On a large airship, a group of government agents are holding a young girl hostage when they are attacked by pirates seeking to kidnap the same girl. In the ensuing fight, she is tossed off the airship but is saved by a mysterious pendant around her neck which lets her float to the ground where she meets a young boy named Pazu. Sheeta and Pazu become friends and he tells her of his late father?s quest to find the mythical floating castle called Laputa, a castle built by a lost race with whom Sheeta seems to have some mysterious connection. Pursued by both the government and the pirates, they continue Pazu?s quest and eventually discover Laputa, only to have it threatened by their enemies. Created by Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki.
