I wanted to watch this show ever since I bought the Dreamcast game, and now that I have I'm very happy ^_^ Picture 4/5: I think it's a LD rip, but the video is still pretty good. Audio 4/5: I don't know why, but on my setup it sounds like everybody is in a large room and their voices echo of walls. Not bad, just a little distracting at first. Subtitles 5/5: PERFECT! These are the best subtitles I've seen yet, tied with the Love Hina DVD set. Other 5/5: All the intros and endings are present, and there is about 1/2 an hour of additional footage after the final episode. This DVD is the reverse of most HK sets the subs are great, but the audio and video are VHS quality. Berserk has a very dark storyline. A band of rebels, who have amazing swordmanship, fight an evil king in midtown. The art and characters are unique and the ending has a different twist. If you like battles paved in blood by a fearless swordman...look no further then Berserk.

The Berserk HK dvds are some of the best I own. They are almost flawless! (BTW, this is my first review here, and I didn't know if I was supposed to use HTML or not. Please excuse my ignorance. Video-- (3/5) Eww.... The video is not very good. It bleeds quite a lot, and skips all the time. Yuk. Audio-- (4/5) Great. That's all that is needed to be said. Subtitles-- (5/5) These are some of the best darn subtitles on ANY HK dvd! They are jerked around a bit, and the timing isn't great, but they are still very perfect. I had to Review Berserk. No one is giving the subtitles any credit! Ok, ok... the video and audio are VHS quality, but with a story like this, it doesn't even matter! Berserk is a very mature and human story. If you are too busy worrying about the video, then you need to wait till you've matured enough to watch this series. This is one in a million stories.. I'm still searching for an anime that can come close to this level of depth and seriousness. But, anyway,the subtitles are excellent. They are easily understood and rarely off timed. They are even better than ones in the US release of the series for the simple fact that they are a lot more true to what the people are saying. Without an America influence, you can really know what the subtle lines intend you to know. Quick Rating Video? 3/5 Audio? 3.5/5 Subtitles? 5/5 Story? too good to rate If you don't own this anime, then this should be the next thing on your list!!

the video had a few glitches here and there, but nothing major. the audio was above average. what really set this off from other dvds are the excellent subs!!

I own the AC/MI set myself since I dug the box better but I grabbed this set off eBay for a buddy for like $20. I watched it again with him and it seemed to be the same as the AC set I own. decent(but not great by any means) video, and good audio. with perfect fan subs. It's a great series aand you can get subs that actually say Gattsu, unlike the r1 release in which he's called Gut's like in that Dreamcast game. "Gut's".... What a weak name, lol.

Everthing about this DVD was good. Video, audio and near-perfect subtitles. This item is highly recommended by me.

I just got this set last week. Excellent series!!! The audio and the substitles were excellent but the video could have been better, not that it was bad. Thats a shame because it kinda spoilt the set for me. But this set is still highly recommended.

Everybody agrees that this is a great series. Although I could have done with a different ending! Kind of left me hanging. Audio quality is great but the video can be grainy and a little dark at times. But it doesn't ruin this series at all. Definitely a must see for any anime fan.

If you haven't seen this anime, shame on you! The video isn't as great as it could be, but then again there weren't Japanese DVDs available at the time to rip. The audio is great, no problems. The subtitles are great, does justice to such a wonderful show... used fansubs i believe.

This is another must have series for everyone. Everyone has heard about the video, audio and sub quality. The story itself is very good. Characters develop very well throughout the series. Also a lot of bloody action for hardcore action fans.

This is one of the best sets done by AV/AS. The subtitles are almost flawless, the video is alright and the sound is good. Haven't seen many that come close to this by AV/AS

This set is well worth buying if you are interested in HK DVD's. The subs are near perfect. AC/MI (or whoever) got smart and used the fansubs for this release, and AS ripped off the AC set, so they're pretty much identical. The only minor problems was on a couple lines, the subtitles hung around too long (neither times was any dialogue immediately followed by someone else, so this didn't bother me), and a couple of times the lines started in the middle and went off the side of the screen (still, not a real issue). The audio seemed fine to me. The main audio was taken and put into the rear channel speakers so emulate a 5.1 channel audio track, but the audio echo that some people speak of is hardly noticeable to me. The video is also a little grainy, and it seems to jump a little on my computer, but other than that it's fine. The AS set comes in standard like DVD cases in a box.

Beserk 3 dvd set Released by: Circle K (?) Japanese with english and chinese subtitles Video: Ripped from LD but looks very grainy and it can bleed on the red but you can see it. hehehe. Audio: Good i guess, no distortions so... Subtitles: Ripped from fansub script so very good. Forget which fansubber's scripts they are but are translated well.

Like all the others have said, this set has good audio and excellent subs, but falls short of a decent picture quality, which might have made this set a must own.

WOW... Subtitles make up 90% of the release, while the audio and video are the other 10%... SUBTITLES: Let's start with this first. Video: 2, dark, extremely poor quality (I posted a few pics of the scene where Griffith is talking to the queen) Audio: 3, It's okay but the fake 5.1 sound gives off a bad echo and isn't easily fixed on my reciever. Subtitles: 5, groundzero/anime central (kansas) scripts, darn nice. Discs: 1, BAAAAD authoring. 2nd layer on all 3 discs freeze or crash all 6 of our dvd players in the house. People have raved on and on for days about this set and I must agree, it's pretty darn good. I own it and enjoy it immensely. It's great stuff -- but far from perfect. Allow me to just skip on over to the point and take a steaming wee-wee on everyone's praise parade. God, I'm evil. :oP 1) First of foremost, the video is not all that hot. It's dark, with an occasional flicker or color bleed or what have you. It resembles more VHS-ish qualities than anything, which isn't all that bad of a thing -- until you've seen the R2s, of course. 2) Obviously those wacky campers at Anime Studio fopped the authoring for this set real good and the layer switch on both discs two and three trigger a jerky pause and -- blink! -- no more DVD. It only does this on the PS2 and PC, so as long as you don't either of these, you should be fine. If you do, well, make sure you pick up the AC version. 3) Hey? Where's the ending, for crying out loud? Boy, there'd better be a second season of this, and pronto! Other than this, I can easily recommend this set to just about anyone. Great series, great subs, and pretty good quality all around. Thumbs up.

I have seen the boxes from Berserk from Anime Cartoon and Anime Studio. The boxes from Anime Studio are only a piece of plastic around it (too bad), but the boxes from Anime Cartoon are better. It has a nice hard box. The subs are great, sounds were good and the video quality was also good. (both of the companies) There are some songs at the end of the last DvD. Including "tell me why" and "waiting so long" unfortunaly forces is not included. Also the DvD does not end but it goes on in the manga. This DVD is great it Has Great Audio And Subtitles but the only thing it suffers from is the Grainy VHS Video Quality. Great Series!!!

Very good subs and audio, but the show suffers from a large amount of grain in the video. It looks like VHS. The most likely thing is that the video was from a LD set and ripped onto SVHS before getting transfered to this DVD. It improves in areas but in some scenes the video looks horrible. Not bad, just don't expect DVD quality video.
