Reviews for Hakkenden - The legend of the dog Warriors
Video:
Audio:

Overall:

Video:

R1 ripped. There is noticeable pixelation on fast action scenes and fast transitions. Also, video is a little bit grainy and shaky, but this may have its cause in the original source.

Audio:

Sounds kind of dull and there is an audible hum, as in many of the early AS releases. I only listened to the Japanese audio, so I can't comment on the English dub.

Subtitle:

R1 ripped. Close to perfect. I think I can remember some lines missing, but it were only very few.

Comment:

This is just the old AS set reprinted and repackaged. So all reviews for that set should be valid for this one and vice versa. The story itself was a little confusing for me, as the episodes not always pick up where the last one ended. Disturbed my flow of watching. Still, if you like classical samurai anime with a heavy dose of bloodshed and mysterious demons and stuff, you might want to check this title out. Equipment used: Sony DVD-NS300 PAL codefree player; cheap Grundig 27" PAL stereo TV

good video, only problem I had is that they were a few seconds sequences where some characters seemed to have been not too well drawn, but also note that it is an old series too.

Audio:

both audio great

Subtitle:

no mispelling, no errors no nothing! Perfect Subs!!

Comment:

I bought this set thinking it had some samurai action and a great story. Well buying it at 21$ I wouldn't of paid that much for it, since there's only 13 episodes too. Story starts off well but strange relationship between a dog and a female human. When there's action there's blood, and lots of it. The story mostly revolves around 8 characters that happen to be the unborn human pups of the crossing between teh dog and human. Each episodes there's a new character with his own story that gets another implicated in it. The eight pups travel to find the rest of their ' brothers ' along teh way. I've watched it once and it's enough for now . lol. It will be quite a while before I touch this series again.
