The video quality was good. I could see anything wrong it myself, but it would have to be pretty major for me to notice ^_^
Audio:
Again the audio was good on this set, no problem, the dub and sub sounded fine.

My overall opinion: bad. Very bad. This set would be ok if you just wanted to watch the dub (and Trigun does have a good dub) but if you like your subs, or just prefer Trigun subbed (as I do), avoid it like the plague. The sub errors were very irritating and have pretty much put me off getting anything by mac again. I also had problems getting episode 23 to work, it only worked maybe 50% of the time. Again this annoying, especially as 23 is a very important episode story wise. Lastly the packaging, meh, I guess I'm spoiled by FX but I really would like more than just a crappy card board cover over a gate fold with nothing but MAC printed all over it. It's also falling apart already so not the best quality. I original bought this elsewhere thinking it was the FX version (they have the same cover) and have since got the FX version which is way better. Working subs, nice box, all in all I would advise you get the fx version instead if you can.

some fool posted their opinion of the set where the series review should have been so here is the series review: Set in Gunsmoke, a desert planet with double suns, comes Trigun, a new series from Mad House based off the manga by Yasuhiro Nightow. He is known as the Human Typhoon, because any town he comes in contact with is leveled to the ground after he leaves. He is the fearsome outlaw, known as Vash the Stampede with a sixty billion double dollar bounty on his head. Some even say that he was the one who put the hole in one of the moons, while others say he has lived for hundreds of years. With all this wanton destruction, insurance agencies are going bankrupt recovering the costs of damages, and one such agency, Bernadelli Insurance, has dispatched two of its finest to track down Vash. Merle Stryfe and Millie Thompson, the two ladies assigned to Vash, travel all over the country to look for this fearsome outlaw who has caused more damage than any other in history. What they find instead is the biggest dork on the face of the planet. This very entertaining series has one of the most lovable main characters of all time in Vash. He is funny, silly, moody, serious, and caring, all rolled up in one. With his signature red coat, spiky hair, and cool sunglasses, follow Vash as he gets into all sorts of trouble while having fun with the Bernadelli girls. Also featuring a side character named Nicholas D Wolfwood, a preacher man with a past, and Legato Bluesummers, a psychotic criminal with a penchant for food, Trigun is a fast paced show that kicks into high gear from the very beginning to the heart-stopping finale.[japanimation.com]

Except for two niggling factors, the video on this set would be perfect. First, in some episodes (three at the last count), a frame of animation that shouldn't be there sometimes appears on the screen for a very brief second and can be somewhat distracting. Lastly, there's significant image ghosting when there's a lot of movement, especially from long distance shots. Apart from these niggling flaws, the video is of very good quality but not *quite* up there with the R1 DVD's. I think this might have something to do that this is a rip of the FX set, which didn't have perfect video quality to begin with. That said, the video remains solid, defined and smooth for the majority of the time.
Audio:
Audio is pretty good. As far as Dolby Digital goes, all you're gonna get is 2.0 on both tracks. Being a rip of the FX version, which in turn is a rip of the R1 DVD's, the audio aspect of this set is identical to the FX and R1 sets. Pretty darn good. It's a shame though that the R1's didn't have 5.1 to begin with, but hey, beggars can't be choosers right? :)

A pretty spiffy set all in all (complete with re-tooled R1 menus), that's well worth a place in anybody's collection. That said the subtitles in this set aren't to flash at all, so if you REALLY want to watch this show subbed you might want to look elsewhere. But, for all the fiends out there who like their shows dubbed (and this is one of the best), you can't really beat this set. I can't help but feel that I may have been a bit too rough with my ratings, as this is one of the best sets i've had in a while. Oh yeah, make sure you get the set with the new graphics and packaging, as the standard MAC gatefold absolutely SUCKS. Over and out. :)

Very good in the video department although there are a few glitches in the middle and is a bit rough at some points but mostly there is a solid video throughout this set.
Audio:
Nearly perfect audio although I do not pretend to have a perfect ear but I would say that the audio clear and audible throughout what I have whitnessed of this excellent set.

You definetly do get your moneys worth on this series. I hate to do this because so many people do, but it is somewhat like Cowboy Bebop. It has a simeler style as bebop but it does have a bit better in the humor department. However I am not knocking bebop for humor. But do not fear that Trigun is all humor for those serios watchers out there. Trigun has an excellent storyline as well and I urge any anime fan out there to buy this set if they have an extra thirty bucks to blow.

Yes, finally, FX rip of Trigun on MAC! No time for chit-chat, let's get straight to the point. Video: 4/5 Looks really good, but I have 2 (little) problems with it. First, there are "glitches" (don't know what you call them) once in a while, like 1 or 2 frames which don't belong show up. It's just for a split second, and is gone before you know it. But still, noticeable. Second, it seems to me like the bright is too bright and the dark is too dark. I hope someone actually understands what I'm trying to say here... it's like the bright scenes are so bright, they hurt. The dark scenes are too dark to make out anything sometimes. Maybe it's my settings, but I never had this problem with other titles before... Audio: 4/5 I only have basic 2-speaker PC system and TV speakers, so hey, what do I know? Didn't detect anything wrong. Subtitles: 4/5 Well... really don't know to give this a 3 or a 4. The grammar is excellent, perfect! Unfortunately, just about every other aspect of the subs have some kind of problems. I'll list down the ones I remember. 1) No spaces between words (often) - Gah, this happens all the time, and usually it's not a big problem other than an annoyance. Example: ..."toyourvisit" 2) Words split up (rare) - The reverse of (1) above. One word has spaces in-between. Example: "I n"... 3) Incomprehensible words (sometimes) - Strange words appear! Example: ..."body7N", "He %/get meff". 4) #NAME appears (sometimes) - #NAME appears instead of a subbed line. Sigh... just rewind and listen to the English track. 5) Timing (rare) - Timing goes turbo once in a while, but quickly corrects itself after a few lines. Now, imagine items 1, 2 and 3 in one line... (@_@) - Packaging is generic MAC gatefold, nothing special. - Opening, ending, chapter breaks, previews, everything intact. - Chapter skip within an episode will move to the following, in order: opening, chapter 1, chapter break, ending, next episode preview. - Ending song has English subs hardcoded in it. - English and Japanese audio available. - English subtitles only. - No watermarks or e-mail addresses whatsoever. - Static menus with background music. - Very nice chapter menus. - Menus different for each disc. Other than the subs annoyances and the *yawn* generic gatefold packaging, this is a very good set. Contains non-gory violence; safe for family viewing. edited by Dannyl on 24 Oct 2002 7:42 am

Great bargain for your dollar! Video: Superb transfer from the R1 version, my only problem is the occassional "glitching" - overall, nice colors, blacks are blacks (although on some occassion they may look muddy) Audio: English and Japanese 5.1 track sounds perfect. Subtitles: Very readable, accurate translation, few grammatical errors. Extras: There are no friggin' extras on the disc - except for a good looking chapter selection (not animated) - could've been great if they included some of the extras in the R1 like sketches and storyboards and stuff. Packaging: Very lame - gray background with MAC logo - makes me want to go to some printer and have it redesigned.
