Video:

First of all I would like to say this is not classified as a hentai by the motion picture association of america, its merely Rated R. Whoever labeled this as a hentai is obviously wrong, true this movie does have medium sexual content, but ill repeat again, its not a hentai. Now, on to rating the actual video, this is sourced from ADV's official dvd release, the anime was made in 1987, it has a decent digital trasfer, although nothing exceptional you cant tell it from the Region 1 release.

Audio:

Japanese 2.0 and English 5.0 I believe, the dub on this movie, in my personal opinion is rather good. Didnt notice any problems.

Subtitle:

The subtitles on the official DVD are perfect, however MAC added Chinese subs to this release, and messed up the English ones as they usually do. Standard mac sub ghosting, and occasional missed lines. I cant comment on the chinese subtitles.

Comment:

This dvd has all the extra features the official ADV release does, Original Japanese Theatrical Trailer, Character Biographies, Video Interview with the Director. I can say in the end, Wicked City is a rather brutal anime with strong sexual content, but its not a hentai, in fact, the first time I ever watched it I rented it from blockbuster. Its not much worse than ninja scroll, just a bit more sexual themed, same level of violence (they have the same directors after all). Definately not for kiddies though.
