Video:
The video was fairly decent. Some pixelation during heavy action and especially the opening and closing credits. The picture may also appear slightly fuzzy on higher definition sets, but still watchable. This was a rip of an Anime Studio dvd, so that may be the reason that there is a slightly higher amount of pixelation than most fx titles (at least the ones I own).
Audio:
Audio had some problems. First of all, while it was the crisper of the two, the English track had some sync problems on certain episodes which resulted in the timing being off for a few seconds. The Japanese track tended to be softer and had a bit of feedback in it, but did not suffer from the problems the English track did. Both Japanese & English language tracks boast 2.0 stereo sound.

Comment:
While this is an average effort, this set has become obsolete as I now see that FX has issued what it claims to be a 'remastered' edition of this OVA. I assume this means that this is their own work from a R1 disc and not just a rip of Anime Studio like this is. (They didn't even bother to remove the Anime Studio logo for pete's sake!!)
I've had this set for about a year and a half now and I honestly can't recommend this to ANYBODY in good faith. There are just too many other versions that are now available that are most likely better than this. If you're a Tenchi fan, just go and get the 9 disc box set already. If you're just looking for this OVA try the remastered version.
BOTTOM LINE: Decent, but obsolete.
