Choppiness towards the end of the discs, a little bit of pixellation at times, overall the same thing you would expect from an HK set.
Audio:
I really couldn't find any errors on the set, minus a couple of times the sound cracked, but it was very easy to ignore.

Comment:
I just got this set in January. The subtitle problem on episode 38 is still the same. Another thing that I noticed, though maybe it was due to my laptop overheating a bit, was that towards the end of each disc the picture and sound would get super choppy and almost freeze, then move up a couple of seconds and do this again. Maybe it will be different on a stand-alone player, I dunno. As far as the subtitles, audio and video the rest of the time, I would have to agree with the previous two.

I would also like to add that the only major problem with this set, aside from the Chinese names and semi-Engrish grammar of the subs, is that Episode 38 uses the same English subtitle script as Episode 36. Maybe they will (or have already) fix this, but this is just speaking for my copy bought in July. Otherwise I agree with everything the previous reviewer said.

There's a lot of grain in the picture, Im watching this in my PC. Maybe in a TV it looks better and without grain, but dont have standalone-player to check that. Something weird was that altough, the most of the time the show looks grainy, there are some scenes that look VERY CLEAR and with brilliant colors. This scenes are a few, dispersed in the entire series. It looks that they forgot to make them, and put this scenes later. This looks like CG, like the Initial D series, Im not talking about the 3D cars, Im talking about the characters, arghh my engrish doesnt let me explain this to you ^_^ But this very clear scenes prove that the show is grainy due to the source, and not because of the compression. Hope somebody understand...
Audio:
Very crisp and clear audio, sounds fine, just stereo, but c'mon, this is a TV series.
