Video:
The video looked pretty good considering the anime was produced in 1992 so it's a bit outdated compared to Macross Plus or Zero but it was pretty good nonetheless. Most probably a DVD or at least an LD source. Theres a black shadow that moves up and down on the top of the screen (just like in the Love Hina MI set) but you will only notice it if you watch it on your computer. On my TV, I didn't notice it at all. Also, the colours were very dark and dull for the 3rd episode (the last episode on the 1st DVD). Most of that episode happens at night so that makes it worse, some scenes can be very difficult to see anything. You can really notice this during the mid-episode break animation, in the other episodes they are alot brighter with better colours. I posted some pics to show the difference between them.
Audio:
Fake HK 5.1 sound. You can really hear an echo in the audio track if you have a 5.1ch sound system but all you have to do is turn off your back speakers and all is good. Other than that, the audio track is pretty good, clear and well define. This is Macross so you know the music will be good.

Comment:
Menus were animated but didn't have a chapter selection menu. One other problem was that the video and the audio wasn't from Macross II but from Macross Plus, you see Isamu and Guld and hear the song Voices but the menu said it was Macross II. Weird I think this was a rip of the MI version because both sets seem to have the same problems I also think that the series was ripped from a R1 source because the end credits were in english and listed the english voice actors, direction crew etc. for the english version. My set came in generic MAC packaging.
