Everyone: Regarding the red tint. The region 2's were said to have contained a problem that made a red tint appear when it is played on certain TVs, this isn't MI's fault, but the original authoring companies'. The video was awesome otherwise.

Audio:

It was OK. Not much to say.

Subtitle:

Very VERY small problems, I'm just being really picky at this point. It's a pretty good release, I believe the r2's had english subtitles on them.

Comment:

This was a pretty good movie. I'd love to see it win the best Animated Feature award it got nominated for... anime could use the publicity (if Treasure Planet wins.... I'll kill myself). Anyway, I dislike MI, but this was OK.

Disc 1 The Movie Video: 5/5 -Perfect rip of the official Region 3 2 DVD set my cousin has. Details and colors look great. Animation is gorgeous. *Note: This does have the red tint problem that has been talked about. I gave the rating not taking this into account, as it may noticeable (depending on you, and if you knew about it beforehand), but I don't think it hurt the picture any. It still looks amazing.* Audio: 5/5 -No problems. Subs: 5/5 -Professionally translated English subs from Buena Vista Home Video. Perfect rip (subs look identical in font and size to Region 3 edition). No timing, spelling, or grammar errors to speak of. Movie: 4/5 -A great, enjoyable feast for the imagination. Disc 2 The Extras Storyboard to Movie Comparison: -Watch the movie in storyboard format (Angle 1) and compare it to the finished animation (Angle 2) with English subtitles available and in-sync with the finished audio. Making of Feature: -The narration is in Chinese, subtitles are only available in Chinese. That's a shame, but does not appear to be any big loss. Appears to be very informative and fairly in-depth though (has interviews and runs 20+ minutes in length). OVERALL 4.5/5 Great set, worth buying! But if you want an English dub (the Disney dub sounds good from the trailers) or you want to rid yourself of that red tint, you may want to hold off for the Region 1 release. edited by btzillaguy on 04 Sep 2002 5:36 pm
