Nadesico TV Series - Animation Video (AV) DVD-806-E [Box Set] This DVD set is not very good. The DVDs don't like to work properly sometimes, mainly skipping in 3-6 second intervals. Video: Looked find in my Apex DVD player and Pioneer DVD-ROM. I think this might be from a DVD source. However, a bunch of episodes are crammed on each disc. Audio: Sounded OK on my systems. Stereo. Content: This is about the spaceship Nadesico and its crew. Everyone on board is a whacko, and there are otakus all over the place. (Wonder if that is good or bad?) It is humorous sometimes, especially the giant robot parody anime, and there is even an episode based on it. Openings and endings were cut, which I did not particularly care for. Subs: The subs were BAD! I didn't understand what was going on half the time. A main contributor to this was Chinese names. Sometimes objects weren't translated correctly. Another thing, which I thought was hilarious, was that there is a strong amount of profane words spread throughout. Some of them did not belong in certain situations and did not even fit the context. Example: Someone is fleeing from the ship, and another one is hunting them down. A female character's subtitles read something like this: "When I catch you, I am going to fuBEEP you!." Overall: You may want to consider looking elsewhere for this title. The only thing I really like was the box art.
