Video was very good, just a little macroblocking, don't even notice it unless one is looking hard for it.
Audio:
Very good, the dub is way better than the originial japanese, no hissing, uneven volume.

I have all the not in production FX boxsets and they were an incredible bargain compared the $1000 plus cost for the Viz R1 releases. Gotta have Ranma 1/2? These were great. Ranma is my next to fav Rumiko Takahashi series (#1 is Maison Ikkoku). Hopefully FX or someone will release these again.

Video is absolutely awesome! Looks great on a big size tv as well as on a computer screen. Hardly any pixelation that I could see at all. Good colors, no issues with banding or odd coloration. Excellent video.
Audio:
Audio was very good. I only watch the Japanese, but I played it briefly in English and it sounded ok. Good syncing. No problems matching the video. No crackling or static of any kind. Very good audio.

The menu's were attractive and easy to use. The box art was a little lacking in my mind, but still attractive and the show is now one of my all time favorite animes and I have actually re-watched several of the seasons just because they were so funny! I've gotten several friends and family members addicted to anime through this set and my InuYasha collection.

Considering the age of the source material (1989), the video on this set looks fantastic. FX fits a lot of episodes on some of these discs, but I didn't notice any major pixelation problems. Especially by the second season DVDs, I was really impressed with how well the show's video looked... again, considering its age.
Audio:
As good as it is going to get (here it comes again), considering the show is 15 years old. No problems with either the english track or the original japanese. I'm becoming more and more attached to the dubbed VA cast the more and more of this show I watch.

I grew up knowing of this show through its video games and mangas... but for some odd reason, despite my long-standing anime addiction, I had never watched a single episode of Ranma 1/2. After becoming addicted to Inu Yasha, I decided to bite the bullet, and order all 7 seasons, the OVAs and the movies... and boy am I ever glad I did. Over the first two seasons, Ranma 1/2 has quickly jumped to the top 3 of my all time favorite shows... and I can tell I'm going to watch this one over, and over, and over... hilarious, great action, and the characters never cease to make you get completely attached. Way, way, WAY highly recommended! Review Hardware: DVD Player - Sony DVP-NS315 TV - Sony Trinitron 32" Flat-Screen

This is a great set, worth the money. The last disk of the seasons has extras. Most are non-credit opeings and closings, sketches, etc.

FX always do a great job and this is no exception. The newer episodes get a bit too ridiculous for me but these beginning episodes are unquestionable classics not to be missed........and the price is right too considering there's 161 episodes.

You notice it's an old series and the material is somewhat "used", but ranma is a classic, so no problem there.

As said before, there's some pixelation. It's really obvious in the two last episodes on the disc with 10 episodes. But in the other episodes you nearly don't notice it, because the R! source video quality isn't that hot itself. A strange phenomenon that I also encountered in other titles.

Nothing to complain about on my simple stereo TV.

This set is pretty much as perfect as you can get. I had absolutely no problems with the quality of it. You get the first 40 episodes of Ranma 1/2 which is the first 2 seasons. In my opinion, these are the best episodes out of the entire TV series, which is around 160 episodes. The Region 1 version would cost you FAR more than this set. And there is not a big difference in quality. I can't wait for FX to finish releasing the entire series on DVD.

Like everyone else has said, this is obviously a region 1 dvd rip. There are some pixilation problems on the fast scenes, but they are no real problem. For the price I paid, I would have to say the video quality was very good.
Audio:
I found no flaws in the audio quality. The English sounded clear as did the Japanese.

This is simply a bargain. It is great to get the first two seasons of Ranma for about $50 as opposed to spending $160 for the region 1 versions. This package takes up less room and looks almost as good. I recommend this set to everyone. This series is absolutely hilarious.

This is a rip so its obviously might have its flaws, but otherwise its really good. You know when it comes to those I-deny-gravity scenes you might get a few glitches, otherwise crystal clear.

i recently entered into the world of buying HK dvd's and well, i have had my ups and downs. but this is definitely worth buying for about 45 bucks (compared to buying the pioneer releases which will set you back more than 220 dollars). video: 4.5/5 awesome; only problem is that you can see some pixalation of the video when certain fast scene occur. audio: 5/5 perfect in my opinion. perfect dubs. subtitles: 4.5/5 has some general issues which can be seen in most ripoffs.

What can I say? FX releases the best HK DVD's. From what I can tell this is an R1 rip. I've been wanting to own this on DVD for a while but didnt' have the dough for the R1 releases. This set includes: Seasons 1 and 2, both Subs and Dubs, comes in a very nice foldout case, and also has extras! VIDEO: Pretty good quality. The only problems I saw was pixalated video during fighting/action scenes. It didn't really bother me though. AUDIO:I don't really have a great audio, but as far as I can tell, everything was good! SUBS:Perfect! Buy this set if you haven't already. This set was worth the 40 bucks that I paid for it.

The audio and video are very good, but are not as crisp as some others (i.e. Cowboy bepop movie) The dubs are perfect and the subtitles are perfect. The box is great with colorful pictures and an index of all the episodes. I also liked the fact that these 5 discs were on one gatefold (great for storage). There is nothing to complain about this amazing set. I could not believe that I would get season 1 & 2 for such a great price (that included great subs and dubs ta boot).
