Video 5/5 ---------------------- The video is good. Crisp and clear with no problems that I can really see. Audio 5/5 ---------------------- I heard nothing wrong with it at all. Of course, I saw this on a television, so that isn't saying as much as it could be. Subtitles 4.5/5 ---------------------- Up until the last few episodes.. the subtitles are beautiful. I adore them. Whatever fan subber they copied from translated everything in the funniest way they could manage. However. Those last couple of episodes are engrish that is even worse than the second season engrish for this show. Mistranslations everywhere, bad names. The previous reviewer said it pretty well. It's very hard to understand. This show is actually very good. I made my friends watch it with me. This show is very character based. All the characters have a lot of development, and they're all very charming in their own ways. The great subtitles in most of the first season episodes really shows this to you. edited by juujinkan on 15 Oct 2002 3:02 pm

First off this box set seems to be a rip of the AC version. **** I just read the review for the MI/AC one and let me say this. The subtitles were NOT LIKE THAT so the audio visual must have been ripped but it looks like they supplied a MUCH MUCH MUCH better subbing. YAY!!!**** The video was as good as I have ever seen on any R1 Anime I own, same goes for the audio but I did not view this box set with a suround sound set up so maybe it is just perfect 2.1 audio. The subtitles were Fantastic on discs 1 and 2. However on Disc three there were I beleive 4 out of the 8 episodes that used a differant Fan Sub script and they used differant spelling for the main characters[lillin became maylin, goyjo became gojou, goku became gokuu, sanzo became sanzou etc...] and these episodes had massive amounts of ENGRISH!!! Overall I liked the story much more than I had hoped I would. Sure the main characters are all pretty boys but the characterization is Excellent and overall the way the series blends together all it's strong points and weak points really works for some eason. The character designs are good but the quality of the ART overall is not. The art is sometimes very sharp and clean and othertimes very not clean =) Also the colors in thiis series are WAY too colorful. Overall I reccomend this box set to someone looking for a new series that has good character development and a good dose of humor, action, and dialog. edited by IMRavnos on 12 Jun 2002 9:16 am
