First and most importantly, Nekki Basara's music really touches my heart and the M7 tv series have many elements which created the legion of fans in the original Macross series. To me, the video and audio was excellent while the subtitles were very good. The names were 99% right and the grammatical errors were easily understandable and not warranting a rewind. Also the last 3 episodes, the bonus material on Set 2 ARE SUBTITLED. Great episodes and hilarious. However i'm not sure if i'm the only one that has a defective episode. On episode 14 on the second disc, there are two places where my dvd player is unable to parse forward. However this problem is solved when i playback on my pc dvdrom. BOMBER!!!

Compared to the FX set the MI release is bare bones (episodes only, no extras, no next episode previews, no opening/ending credits), has noticable inferior video quality to the FX release, but sounds a little better and has MUCH better subtitles. The subtitles are good but not perfect. About 80% accurate to fansubs, but there are some timing issues.

wow is this a good set, macross 7 is one of those series that might never get a official releases outside of japan but this H/K set is a must for fans of macross,PICTURE-4/5 AUDIO-4/5 SUBS-4/5,the reason i never gave the subs 5/5/ was while overall they are perfect they can be a bit fast a times but not enough to put you off,and none of the songs have subtitles only minor problems but an amazing release, these bootlegs just get better and better, essential set. edited by doraemon on 18 Jul 2002 4:59 pm

The video, audio, & subs were great. The only complaint I have in this area is the add-on episodes. The add-on episodes have no subs. I loved these little bonus episodes and they actually tell a lot about the characters that you never learn during the anime. The music in Macross 7 in amazing. If you love music or want to see if music can cross language barriers, then I am sure that you will love this anime. You do not have to be a mecha freak or a Macross fan, known as Robotech in the US, to enjoy this show. The last thing about the collection that makes it great is that they cut off at a good stopping point in the story.
