I'd rank the storyline a 3.5 out of 5. It had a pretty good start, and some parts of the story had real life situations and showed how the characters overcame them... It has some really funny parts plus a bit of freeshow for the lads out there, some parts made me want to slap someone and some parts were humourous with the plus of some nice romantic moments. Overall an entertaining DVD and will definitely keep it in my collection. I must say that I did shed a few tears (I won't say where =P don't want to spoil it for you) and I am pleased with the ending.

The video quality was very crisp and detailed! No oddball artifacts at all from watching it on both a standand alone DVD player and computer DVD player.
Audio:
The audio was very good. On time and in synch. It sounded very rich on both the cheapy TV speakers and my 2.1 theater setup!

Great series to add to ones anime collection! I saw one episode when I was down at Anime Expo and was hooked so I got the boxset. The menus are unsubbed, but it is easy to navigate around by using a few trial clicks. The cover, discs, as well as inside art was very nicely done.

The quality was great. No need to say anything else. I was very impressed when i first ordered this item. I never knew what it would be about and it turned out to be my favorite anime. I really hope they make a sequal to this series.

I loved the ending song "White Station". I knew it was the end of the episode but I wanted to listen to all of it... I got addicted. But enough of that, Im glad the voice actors (seiyuu's) did a great job.

The back of the box says: Dialogue: English/Japanese.... well thats a lie! Lol... its only in Japanese... =P This series may be short, but as you watch it, it seems as if a lifetime goes by as the main character unravels the plot. Have Fun!

This is a really nice set. The audio, video and subtitles were pretty good. Video 5/5: Very good. Did not see much of anything wrong with it. Audio 5/5: Also very good. No complaints. Subtitles 4/5: Pretty good but sometimes they left out lines and a few spelling errors. They did not subtitle the little speeches at the ends of each episode though. Overall, cant complain at all about this set. Story was ok. Pretty cute at times although the teacher and student thing kind of creeped me out a little bit.

A well done set. Video: Close to perfect. (5/5) Sound: Sometimes volume seems slightly inconsistent (4/5) Subs: Would be perfect, but a little bit too many typing errors (4/5) Contains tons of (unsubbed) extras. A very nice series. And it doesn't exploit the cross-dressing teacher theme for cheap ecchi jokes. Highly recommended! edited by BeardFan on 27 Oct 2002 3:18 pm

I have to add something. It came loaded with extras, but since I can't tell what they are (menu is in Japanese remember) and it's unsubbed, they mean nothing to me. Warning: I got a factory mistake that came with two Disc One's, instead of Disc One and Disc Two. I got my problem corrected, luckily. Just watch out. One more thing... this is perfect. You should all buy it.

Well this is one of those fan sub series that you see on VCD on ebay. However I'm not a big fan of the VCD format. Video 5/5 - Beautiful. No problems whatsoever, even with the first disc containing eight episodes and loads of extras. No pixelation or macro blocking. Sound 5/5 - No problem through my stereo. The speakers sounded very nice. Subs 4/5 - This release was impressive. The subs looked exactly like R1(font,color,size). The translations were very good. Definately taken from fan subs. Opening and endings were subbed. However they were not perfect. There were lots of misspellings, un-necessary capitilizations, and some small engrish. Most words were easy to figure out even though they were misspelled. Example : allright - allrght however some were tough Example : be - ne. There was one word that I had no clue on what it was supposed to be in english (it had no equivalent). All of the names were right. Subs were really good!!!! As a side note there are no Chinese subs. This is incredible because this shows that HK companies have realized the potential market available in America, and are probably working harder to make even better releases. Packaging 4/5 - Well as you might know the series is about a guy who cross dresses to teach at this one school. The only problem is that he is on the backside, in bloomers. It looks more like a different character, than him, but it still feels weird seeing a guy in bloomers. My only other gripe was that the case wouldn't stay closed. Replayability 5/5 - The first 9 episodes look to be a lot of fun to just watch on their own, but the last couple would be really good to watch as a mini-feature. I'll definately check out some again, later on. Content 5/5 - The show was a lot of fun. It starts out as a comedy, but slowly creeps into the drama genre. It's a lot of fun, and I wish there were more episodes. It's a little far fetched, I could never cross dress, I would be found out in seconds (Excuse me ma'am, I just wanted to say you have some lovely sideburns, and a nice beard to match. Though those arms seem to be a little too muscular.) As I said earlier, the guy wears bloomers and other sexy female outfits. It feels a little weird because the guy looks more like a completely different character when cross dressing, but still you know it's a guy so you feel a little uncomfortable. I enjoyed the sort of lesbian theme in the show. Overall the show was very good and the ending was exceptional. I bought the set for $14. There are 13 episodes, that's about a $1.07 per episode. It's an incredible deal and should not be passed up because it delivers the goods. By the way I still have no idea what I My Me Strawberry Eggs means. edited by Steve_the_Talking_Pie on 08 Sep 2002 8:36 am edited by Steve_the_Talking_Pie on 08 Sep 2002 8:39 am

This set was AMAZING ! The video quality was beautiful and perfect. I'd be very suprised if the r1's can match this quality. The audio was crisp clear and bold. And the subs were scellant. They had few typos, but they were wonderful translations, translted the signs even ! And they are yellow.... not that same ugly white. The series is awesome. A perfect buy.

This is a pretty good set. Its only flaw is the subtitles.... Video: Looked great to me. Vibrant solid colors and all. No complaints here. 5/5 Sound: Again.. no complaints. I may not be the best judge of this, but it sounds good through my headphones. 5/5 Subtitles: The only flaw with this set. They were translated good, but typos were abundant. There was only one line that I had to really think about to under stand it, so they aren't THAT bad. It could've used a nice spell-check, though. The subtitles seemed to be done by someone else for episodes 4 - 5, and had a boost in quality. The rest, though, were plagued by the typos and some grammar errors. 4/5 Content: A pretty good series, overall. It got a bit too unrealistic for me at some spots, but it was well-done overall. Pretty funny, pretty touching... pretty good series. Well worth my money, thats for sure. =] 4/5 edited by Shippou on 29 Aug 2002 2:22 pm

VIDEO: More than likely, the video on the disc is DVD-Sourced. It's damn good. Not some of the best ever, but definitely something worth while. GRADE: A- AUDIO: Pretty good, I guess. There weren't very many glitches, so that was a good thing. As a matter of fact I think in the entire six and a half hours of anime, there were only two glitches. To my knowledge, anyways. I may be wrong, and probably AM. GRADE: A SUBTITLES: Very, very spectacular! I dip my hat to you, FX for doing such a magnificent job with these! Thank you ever so much. GRADE: A+ SERIES: I My Me, Strawberry Eggs isn't that great, but at the same time, it isn't horrible. I'll keep it, but I won't watch it as much as I'll watch some of my other sets like Cowboy Bebop, and Lupin III. I found it to be very mediocre. GRADE: B+ MENUS: The menus were very nice, and pretty clever, even though they were written in Chinese, as one of the previous reviewers has said. They even had some nice background music, which rules. GRADE: A+ PACKAGING: Classic Manga International gatefold set. How refreshing... The artwork for the cover, and the discs were nice. And, it's disappointing that the person featured on the back wearing bloomers is a male... GRADE: A- CHAPTER STOPS: Wow! Finally, there's an HK DVD with more chapter stops than just one an episode! Wow! I BELIEVE that there are three an episode, but don't quote me on that. I may be wrong. GRADE: A+ EXTRA FEATURES: None available. GRADE: N/A DISC OPINION: Well, I'll keep them. I won't be buying the Region One discs for two reasons: A) They'll have to change the middle-school to a high school, which won't be as horrible. B) It wasn't good enough to own on both Region One, and HK DVD. The show itself is okay, and the set is pretty amazing. Get it, if your interested. GRADE: A-

Kind of hard to navigate the menu because it is all in Japanese, but it's straight-forward when you get used to it. Includes all the original extras. This is a cute show, good for comic relief and confusing parents that might wander through the room. The main premise of the show is gender comedy, with some lolita complex, of course, just like any other show involving 14-year olds. Has some nice twists and good music.

I My Me! Strawberry Eggs is a wonderful series. 'Nuff said. Video-- (5/5) I'm not sure if there is an r2 out for this series or not, but if there is, this has GOT to be a rip of it. The video had no glitches at all, that I noticed. Audio-- (4.5/5) No problems here. Everything was good. Subtitles-- (4.5/5) Wonderful. An occasional typo, or a misplaced letter, or something along those lines, but other than that, they were perfect. Content-- (5/5) I normally don't care for comedy anime. I also normally don't care for romantic anime. Which should mean I HATE I My Me! Straberry Eggs, seeing as how it's a romatic comedy. Well, oddly enough, I didn't hate I My Me! Strawberry Eggs! It was a wonderful, wonderful series, and it had a sad ending. :( But, yeah, I got this set in from florachanxxx, and popped it in. I watched all thirteen episodes in that very same day. That should say something. Buy this set, or Satan will eat your soul.

Personally, I don't think this set is as PERFECT as everyone says...it's still one of the best sets out there. Video: 5/5 Completely DVD Quality. Video is very clear with no noise or anything. On another note, the animation is fantastic! Audio: 5/5 Very good. No pops, crackles, hisses, or anything of the set. I also like the ending theme ;) Subtitles 4/5 While very good and easy to understand, there were a few problems. Rareley (very rarely), like, 4 times throughout the whole series, almost 3 lines of subs fly by so quick that you can't even pause it. While it's not that much of a problem, it did kind of get annoying. Also, there were a bit more spelling erros that predicted. Still very good subs! WAYYY above average. I highly recommened this set! The series is very lighthearted and cute. I didn't think I would like it at first but I love it! A must buy!

This set is truly one of the best HK DVD sets out there. The content is pretty neat as well. I like the storyline, it's light and funny. It's definitely not one of those thought provoking anime nor is it deep. But sometimes we need this kinda stuff to lighten up and this set does it. Video: 5/5 - very good video, nice and clear, definitely dvd source, neat animation! Audio: 5/5 - nothing for me to complain about. I watched it with a tv but I haven't heard of anyone complaining about the sound quality. Subtitles: 4.5/5 - very good subtitles, translation nice and accurate, names are right on, however, some typos and such which is normal for HK DVDs, definitely fall on the better end of it though. Overall: Gotta get this set! There's nothing to think about here, you got quality and great content. I'm very happy with this set.

Video 5/5 Taken right from R2 release with all the menus and extras intact, FX did a wonderful job fitting 3 DVDs into a DVD9 while retaining the high quality. Top notch stuff. The menus were entirely in Japanese with no Chinese present at all as opposed to what the previous reviewer said at the bottom. Might take a few mins to work out the navigation process for non-japanese speakers but no big deal. OP and ED were intact for every episode and sufficient chapter breaks were included to make navigation a breeze. Audio 5/5 Sounds extremely solid through my surround setup, although no 5.1 :( (can't ask for too much since this is only a TV series) Subs 4/5 No Chinese subs??? I usually prefer Chinese subs over English subs but luckily they used fan subs for this release and it managed to convey meaning across quite well. A few spelling errors here and there but nothing major enough to distract you from enjoying the story. Extras 5/5 Retains all the extras featured on all the R2 releases, although all of them aren't subtitled it makes an interesting experience going through them anyway. Each session features different extras which adds welcome value to this already excellent release. Content:Just by looking at the cover may scare potential viewers away due to its shoujou appearence, however after watching 1st episode I am relieved to say it's much more than your typical shoujou show. Let me just say that for those who enjoyed fruit basket will enjoy this show no doubt. This set is the best HK release I've purchased so far, FX has set the standard again. edited by arcage on 04 Jun 2002 11:04 pm

Video - 5/5 - Appears to be DVD sourced. Audio - 4/5 - no complaints here but the audio tends to be on the low side. easily solved by raising the volume. Subs - 4/5 - Usually very good. However, there are more typos than it should, mostly spelling errors. Subs are not in engrish at all, probably fansubbed.. the 3 or 5 sec intro (where one of the girls talk) to each episode is not subbed. Menu - Menu is in Chinese in the main menu. divided into 3 chapters in disc 1 and 2 chapters in disc 2. Chapter 1 (disc 1) contains ep 1-3, Ch2 has 4-6, ch3 has 7-8. (text in cthe chapters changes to japanese by the way). Ch1 of disc 2 contains 9-10 eps, and ch2 contains 11-13 eps. about ten to twelve breaks in each chapter. Opening/endings are kept in tact, and some songs are subbed.
