once again ignore the synopsis. it is actually the synopsis for the ova and not the series. the visual quality for the dvd is good, but the audio buzzes a lot on my ps2 (it could just be my system). a lot of errors as far as grammar goes, but i suppose it's liveable. as far as storyline goes, i recommend the ova over this for those who prefer more artistic and quality animes. the animation for the series is a lot cheaper as is the storyline. the series is more geared towards a junior high crowd so there is not a lot of subtlety, and the shinma designs are obvious portrayals so a younger crowd could understand them (these are not my own deductions. it says so in one of the volumes of the R1 releases.) what really saves the series is that the endings always seem to have a dark twist. in that way it is more mature and interesting. in all, it's worth checking although the ova is better, and some episodes in the series are good while others seem to be cheap fillers.

video+audio -- good; nothing to really mock about subs -- good; sometimes a line is missing, but overall good english, very understandable authoring -- complete episodes RESULT: very nice collection of the whole tv-show; high above the common AS-junk of new tv-shows

Just like the previous reviewer said, the synopsis is wrong. Don't bother with the synopsis posted by the user "lifestop". All of his synopsis are cut and pasted from some other websites. Anyway, Vampire Miyu the tv series is more about how Miyu must seek out demons called Shinma. It is a very dark series and there is never a happy ending! If you liked the OVA, then this is more of the same.

The TV series has nothing to do with the OVA and there is no Himiko.. infact, it adds many new characters. In, Vampire Princess TV, each episode is a story in it's own. Miyu usually sits back and watches how the Shinma (or demons) play with the lives of humans, until she finally, at the end of the episode, defeats them. Don't get me wrong. The stories are dark and usually have an ironic twist which keeps them far from the repetitious flow of the whole "transform and defeat" scenario of Sailor Moon. Although, the episodes are a bit toned down, it has the same morbid and dark feel as Boogiepop Phantom or Petshop of Horrors. I'd recommend this to anyone with a macabre taste.
