Video:

The video quality on this release is very good. There is very little in the way of macroblocking or picture imperfections. Additionally, the picture manages to maintain it's integrity throughout, and is easily comparable to any R2/R1 Gundam DVD out there. One of the best video transfers i've seen.

Audio:

The audio also, is pretty darn impressive. Done in complete Dolby Digital 5.1, Gundam Evolve really shines in the many mecha combat sequences that it has on show. In short, the audio here is very good indeed.

Subtitle:

The subs on this release, while understandable, do vary from time to time. It also appears that practically everything is subbed on this set too, with the extras, documentaries and gundam footage all being subbed. The subs themselves aren't perfect (certainly as far as the grammar goes) but there are quite bearable for the most part.

READ THIS FIRST IF YOU ARE THINKING OF BUYING THIS DVD! ======================================================= Gundam Evolve is not a proper Gundam production, think of it as a solely 'omake' (extras) disc. It has no real story on it (short of the two last Evolve CG sequences) and is designed more as a nice little appatiser to have, rather than a proper Gundam story. Only, worth having if you're a Gundam nut. Everybody else, stay well away. It ain't worth the mileage.

Don't let the ratings deceive you. This set gave me similar feelings to my Crest of the Star Birth OVA. It's freaking short and there's no story at all. I know nuts about Gundam only that i downloaded a clip from a web site which said Gundam Evolve which looked very spectacular. I thought this dvd was the entire show of that clip. That clip turns out to be the entire Gundam Evolve part 3. SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS Still the scenes are spectacular. The subs look R1. Yes perfect. Even the ending credits are in english. Not sure if this has been released on R1. Lots of extras. But who cares!!! There is no story!!!!
