The video is VHS quality, including that wavy line at the top. The audio requires one to turn up the volume higher than normal, which is fine unless wearing headphones. The subs are understandable, but not normal English; they're awkward at best. edited by Mitsuki on 23 Aug 2002 7:16 pm

The video and audio are quite good, however that doesn't matter if you can not understand the story. If you have never seen this before, then I suggest you either read a synopsis of the episode or think really hard about what just happened on your TV. Granted the stories can be easily figured out once the entire episode is unraveled, but you miss a lot of subtle plot points along the way. Incase you don't want to read this here is a quick rating... Video? 4/5 Audio? 3.5/5 Subtitle? 1.5/5

As with most Hong Kong DVDs, the video and the audio is excellent. So let's get down to what matters, the subtitles. The subtitles are not the best. I would give them a 3 out of 5. They are good enough that you can understand the story, but far from perfect. Practically every line has a gramatical error. For example a line that would read "Look out. He's attacking." might look like "Look he attacks".
