Video quality is grainy and at times, dark. Not very high on quality. But then again, not bad at all!
Audio:
Good sound quality, but I've heard better! Sometimes it doesn't sound too clear....

Comment:
Despite the kickass soundtrack and all the nostalgic racing scenes re-done in new CG, I wouldn't reccomend this DVD to anyone! But to those of you who don't care about the subtitles, then this is for you. Other than that, this is just plain horrible! I'm currently waiting for a better version of Battle Stage. And when that comes out, I'll be buying it for sure, and I'll either trash this version or just sell it at a cheap price, since the DVD itself is cheap. As for the feature itself, it's just a recap of all the major battles that Takumi, Ryosuke, and Keisuke have been through...though the majority of the battles featured were Takumis countless battles in the series. They also showcased the battle between Keisuke Takahashi and Seiji Iwaki at Akagi Hill for a short time. A battle that was never seen in the anime series until now. The CG animation has been enhanced. The cars look more realistic than ever, including the mountain passes. The Eurobeat music featured on Battle Stage is just flat out amazing. If you want to relive all those nostalgic battles, then I'd say check it out! As I mentioned before, if the subs don't bother you or you don't need them, and understand Japanese, then I reccomend this. But to those who are picky with their subtitles and video quality, I wouldn't reccomend this DVD if that were the case.

Video: This is interesting because of how inconsitent the video quality is. At the beginning it looks like a third generation EP copy but there is some really crisp CG work between the races and some of the later races look much better. Audio: Sounds ok, maybe a little lost in the L/R seperation and a slightly compressed dynamic range. Not bad... not great. Subtitles: First off, the names are all wrong. Secondly, I want a translation for these translations. At least the timing is decent and they are easy to read. Content: This is a collection of the races from the first three stages with some CG between the races to show which cars are racing each time. Only get this if you are a die hard Initial D fan or only want to see car races and don't care about story lines (there isn't one here). The only really positive thing I have to say is that the races from the movie are letter boxed so you get to see how truly beautiful the third stage is. edited by Zagatto on 15 Sep 2002 7:29 pm

ok this is my first review so bare with it :) The video was watchable but it was kinda blurry, am guessing a tv-rip or just a bad DVD rip or something (not much of a quailty freak) The audio was fine, sounded good to me. No high pitches are annoying sounds or nothing. now....the subs, christ, they were shit! wrong names of people and the towns. 90% of the dialouge made no sense and wasn't accurate, it is understandable AT TIMES but most of the time, yuck, total garbage. I like it only cuz am a die hard fan of initial D, if someone releases a better release then i will get it and throw this one out cuz this one REALLY annoyed me!!

Video: 3 / 5 It was OK, watchable, but a bit unclear. Kinda blurry...hard to explain, but its not that great. Its watchable, by all means, but its just not worth it. Audio: 3.5 / 5. Eh..not good...not as clear as i would expect, but not very bad either. Subtitles: 3.0 / 5 Not too bad, understandable, but not perfect. Content: Its just a recap of all the other initial d battles, definately not worth watching, in my opinion. Rates a Flat 0 on the fun scale for me. Overall: Only worth it if youre a die hard initial d fan.

video was ok except for line glitch below the screen
Comment:
video was ok except for the line below the screen. whats bad about this copy is its subs, they changed the name of some drivers and places to chinese names. plus some of the translations sucks, talk about bad sentence construction.
