seemed all fine to me, no complaints. not sure what its rippied from, id say either tv or video

this dvd set is quite good quality everything is up to scratch so that you may watch, enjoy(maybe) and understand(probably not) the show and compared to R1 its quite the bargin we have on our hands here. however i wasnt impressed by the show itself, it was mostly very boring and nothing seemed to happen apart from in the last few episodes. i feel that this show was very over-hyped and payed off by being a mind-fuck anime ala akira & evangelion, the japanese dig stuff that they cant understand. although i must say that i was moved by the ending a little (dont quite know how), but all i can say is: good set - boring anime

Video is great, but it's a little grainy, presumably as a result of squeezing 4 disks worth of material (ripped from R3 discs) onto 2 disks. Also, I don't know if Lain originally had next episode bumpers -- after the last closing credit on the first episode (for Pioneer), the next episode immediately starts. No logos or e-mails.

The cover for the box has been ripped from the US Pioneer (or Singapore Onex?) release, and the cheapness shows, especially on the back, where the printing is a little blurry. It's a decent HK rip with the normal shortcomings. The story, however, may be difficult to comprehend, espcially close to the end. This is one series that you need to watch from start to finish to really get the gist of it.

The audio has a very annoying buzz in the background (and I assure you, it's not the "Lain buzz" :D). It really annoys me, but other people don't often notice it. If you really care about audio quality, then I'm not sure that this is the set for you. For anyone who's wondering if this is a problem with my setup, it happens on both the TV and the computer, so it's not :).

A must-see series, I suppose. It presents the viewer with some really interesting ideas, one of those "mind fuck" animes ;). Anyhow, grab this set, or the new FX one, it's certainly worth seeing! Check out my screenshots for some video and subtitle examples.

The video quality is excellent. No obvious artificing that I can see or pixelation. There is a little color bleed when the color red is surrounded by black, but I've yet to see a DVD where that didn't happen, so it's all good.

This is a nice little set, and a good choice if you want Lain DVDs for a good price. There are no problems with HKish subtitles or video issues. The discs themselves are also nice looking, with reflective gold tinted art, although the case itself is a bit boring. A worthwhile purchase.

This review is for the 2 dvd set by AS Only seen the first 4 episodes. If their is any changes in the latter episodes I will edit my review. Video: 5/5 Excellent, nice sharp DVD quality picture. 13 episodes on 2 dvd9s. R3 rip. Audio: 4.5/5 Very good. 2.0 stereo. No problems at all, in synch and clear, no humming or echo. Subtitles: 5/5 Very good english and no timing problems. Nice esay to read font. Must have ripped it from the R3 dvds because there are Malay subs also. As for the Malay subs, I used to know Malay but completely forgot the language so I asked my mother if she could give me a review of the Malay subs but she told me to fuck off. Sorry Content: Its about the internet and how every human is linked, lots of reflection about ones own existence, blah, blah, blah.
