We meet Shuichi and Hiro two members of an up and coming group Bad Luck. Their manager Sakano-san who is constantly trying to get them gigs and noticed by his boss Tohma Seguchi, the CEO of N-G Corporation. In the process of writing some new lyrics, Shuichi encounters a mysterious man who tells him he has no talent. Shuichi is devestated and angered by the man's words. He finds out that the guy was Eiri Yuki, a famous novelist.
Shuichi and Eiri develop a complicated and opposing relationship throughout the series. Both characters have their faults. Shuichi is trying to be the equal of his idol, singer Ryuichi Sakuma from the famous group Nittle Grasper. He has to overcome his want to be something he's not and realize that who he is better, not just for him, but for the Bad Luck as well. Eiri has a past that he has to deal with and scars that he needs to heal. He has to realize that he can't do anything alone and that he needs Schuichi not only as a companion, but as a shoulder to lean on.
The anime is also about the pop-techno group Bad Luck and their evolution from nobody to somebody. The boys come to find their talent and place in the music industry with the help of (former manager) producer Sakano and new manager Mr. K. Also with the support of Tohma Seguichi and Ryuichi Sakuma, who teach them they can be great if they really want to.
