video -- good; but its neither best nor reference, cos there's too much video-noise audio -- average, fine: enligsh and japanese; bad: only stereo and the jap. is re-recorded with a noticible 60hz-noisance, yeech! subs -- fine cos orginals RESULT: nice rc1-ripp, but not a perfect copy

Ill start off by saying that this set is a direct rip from AS and there's even the AS logo on there, but let that differ you from getting this wonderful set. Video - 5/5 The animation in this series is absolutely gorgeous, and not to mention that the video in this set just looks really good. THis is an obvious R1 rip because of the english credits. There are the usual blocks on high motion parts, but I don't tend to score that against any set (since they all have them including R1 releases), if there were blocks on a non-motion scene, then I would score against that. There are many different chapter breaks as my screnn cap shows, so going from scene to scene is easy. Audio - 4/5 The audio is there and it's not at all hissy, or crackly, but it seems a little bit muffled, but nothing major. The audio is in sync, and it all seems to be there. There isn't anything wrong that I can tell. Subtitles - 5/5 The subs in this set are NOT engrish, which is a big plus in dealing with AS. The subs are also probably taken from the R1 release, so they are very readable, and the names are proper as well. However, there are some times when the subs are quicker than the sound, and other miniscule mistimings, but nothing to complain about. Overall this set is really really good. There isn't really anything wrong that I can tell (aside from the blocks that appear every once in a while), and judging that all the people that reviewed the AS version liked it (since this is a AS rip), that's good to know when buying this. When it comes down to it, you can't beat this price for the quality that you're getting.
