Video:
The video has rather dull colors, and has quite a bunch of pixelation during some movement. What's the worse thing is that in some episodes, it has this sort of 'shadow' thing. Like in one scene, Haibara walked somewhere, but there was some imprints that faded after she walked, like a ghost kind of. I guess this is what ghosting is. It is really only noticable in the dark scenes.
I'm pretty sure it is a DVD rip, however. Since the individual DVDs use the R2 covers.
Audio:
It was as good as it can get given it was a basic stereo source. I had no issues, and all the sound and background music/themes came through really well.

Comment:
Packaging:
The Conan logo is printed in gold foil, which looks really great, and the back of the box has a great low yellow color that really gives the series a nice feel. It's a very good change from the dark colors so common for the series.
The individual disc cases are basically the same, if not a little low quality images. Once again, an awesome yellow color scheme.
Menus:
Basic, and no motion. There is only a Play, Subtitle Select, and a Chapter Select. Unfortunantly, the chapter select just is stuff like "Chapter __", nothing about the episodes, and since there's no pictures or movies of the episode to resume watching from previously. They're ok, but you won't see them unless you hit the menu button, since the episodes start once you put in the disc.
-----
The show has some really good mysteries, and one particularly great 2 episode story arch I really liked (where they are in the dark castle). Of course, the video isn't that good at all, and the subtitles aren't that great, but you really should consider this is you want to get the newer episodes at a watchable quality.
There are the openings and endings for all the episodes (I might as well mention that the first opening it uses, which is actually from Season 5, "Truth" is GREAT). There is one chapter point per episode, at the start. So if you start an episode, and need to stop partway, you will have to fastforward to the right spot.
I added some screenshots for a better example. Enjoy.
