Again you dont seem to get my point, from the very begining I am trying to say with books and manga adapting that depends on individual interpretation but with games there is really only just adapting the screenplay and there is no real individual interpretation unless you are making a movie losely based on the game like RE1 but if you make a movie on a game that is in every way exactly like the game for me that would be boring.
But I am only expressing my opinion I am not argueing here so if you see it as that then whatever...

My final word is that if someone decides to make a movie from a game then I would rather see something like re1, spirits within and doom where they took important notes from the existing world and came up with new characters and events instead of it just rehashing the game exactly.

His best work was event horizon, and nothing hes done since has even been close

Agreed, this guy knows what he is talking about. Event Horizon was a good flm, but everything else he has touched has been utter shit. I'm with Blight here, the second I saw he was doing it I lost all interest. People should stop giving him films, he is possibly the worst director out there.

What i do not understand is the fact that there are many ideas that would make great movies sadly 20% of them are used and then you get all this crap.

Many people seem to think all the good ideas have been taken but thats not true. take the computer game MYST and turn it into a visual masterpiece (since thats what myst is)of exploration (throw in some sort of mystery element and it could be ok) (this might be a bad idea but it seems like it could turn out ok)
Then we have a movie like (the shaft) ((the lift)) Which is about a haunted elevator in the millenium building where all you would have to do is avoid the elevator.

Anyways my point is people seem to want to make movies of everything but only as long as they think it will make them money....

But don't worry there are plenty of older movies Tongue
