I just can't believe you guys won't acknowledge that graphics can add a lot to a game.

They can add a lot (I did say I liked pretty graphics) but they don't remove. A game doesn't stop being a great game simply because it's graphics aren't state of the art. Thinking like that, we might as well say all games suck because they don't have the awesome graphics of 20 years from now.
