I think I was 21 or 22 at the time (those years are pretty much a blur for me at this point) and I just applied. The guy asked if I could cook and I said why not. Voila! I was a chef. Only lasted three months or so till I got a job at a camera shop though. I've worked at five or six different camera shops over the years and left all of them on good terms (except for one... cheap bastards).
