In my experience, girls don't like anime just because they don't. It's not their "flavor" or something along those lines. It's not that they are afraid of being called nerds (who is gonna call a good-looking girl a nerd?) it's just that they don't like anime for some reason. Maybe it's the plots or the fact that it's animated or whatever, but in general it just doesn't seem to interest them. Now, of course, there are always exceptions, but unfortunately I haven't found one. Sad To me, anime is kinda like football or video games or explosions, it's just something guys tend to enjoy more than girls.
