FY is shoujo and has a good dose of comedy as well as romance.

Personally, I thought it was really enjoyable although it has a number of faults regarding character development.

Fushigi Yugi is *not* yaoi or anything vaguely resembling it. I liked Ini D and Eva, and thought Berserk wasn't bad. I like FY more than any of those titles. It's certainly more epic than any of the others. Yeah, it is shoujo. It's very well written shoujo and probably will appear to guys more than most other shoujo series, since it has a lot of action and lots of characters with cool powers to go along with the romance elements. Wink Not to mention the FX packaging makes it the most gorgeous set that I own, R1 or otherwise. Big Grin

The MI sets are top notch too!

I've watched about the first 10 episodes, and so far it feels A LOT like Inu Yasha, so if you've seen parts of that it is very similar in style and character. I think it's awesome though.

There are 2 m/m kisses.

I think FX's packaging sucks but MI's is simply stunning. Never seen a better package. MI's NEW one, I might add. Not their old "Suzuka" sets.

Dude, have you seen the FX packaging, and held that box in your hands? I have well over 500 anime DVD's, over half of which are HK sets, from every HK manufacturer out there. Fushigi Yugi wins. Hands down. The gatefolds are glossy, they list every episode, the pictures are gorgeous, and the frosted sleeves are a nice touch. I'm sure the MI set is nice, but the fact that I would rank the FX above every other set that I have ever seen should remove it from the "suck" category. Rolleyes

If the two kisses bother you that much, then you're a homophobe and you need to get help. Easy as that.

MI's packaging is indeed very stunning, but I prefer my FX set.I don't like the new M clips that MI use, for the fact that they don't hold the DVDs properly, they let them spin in the plastic clips and allow the bottoms to scratch on any dust/dirt in the container.

Give the series a shot. I don't recommend much, but this is one I *HIGHLY* reccomend.

Hey didn't give you gay did he? Haha Big Grin

The show is great. I've only seen the first 22 episodes of Domestic VHS. Well worth the time. Any show that draws you into 10 episodes in a row is definitely worth it. Wink

Lol, I'm at about episode 35 and this series has me going O_O a LOT. Every single conflict in it is based on misunderstanding or stupidity. If this is designed for women I have to question how they operate, for the whole feel is very foreign to me, ESPECIALLY after coming off Berserk.

However, this is one of the coolest anime's ever made. There's no denying it, it will pull you in and string you along. You won't want to quit.

Those kissing scenes aren't that bad...Also, in one of the scenes he's being held captive in chains, so it's not like he has a choice...
