This was brought up on IRC, and I thought I'd bring it to the boards. If you had the opportunity to have an anime girl become real and fall in love with you (or if you could snag them), which one would it be?

has any one else noticed some striking similarities between the main characters in cowboy beop and lupin the 3rd? there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that lupin had a huge influence on spike, not only in appearence but also in personality (well a little), jigen = jet, well both have beards and are the side-kicks in a sense. and finally fay = fujiko, basically the bitchy female character that you "would do" if you were also an anime character, but unfortunately your not, your just a sad bastard who watches too many cartoons . damn im quite harsh with myself these days, has anyone else noticed this? i would be very surprised if not because it was the first thing i noticed when i saw bebop, but alas do the similarities end here? or are there more?

I have heard this phrase more than once... "The golden age of anime Blah..." as a long time fan I have sat and pondered what would I or we class as the Golden Age. IS it the 80's or 90's or is it more defined like from 83 to 93. Hell maybe it isn't even a decade maybe it is from 85 to 87...

Well anyway I am wondering what you guys consider to be the Start and the end of the so called Golden Age and what you consider to be the top 5 anime to come from that era. Oh and what Anime/Manga story writer had the biggest impact on the era... I will give my thoughts after the first few posts.

And maybe I can talk JJ or Schultz into taking are combine thoughts and making a poll to replace that region free dvd poll over there... weatdrop:

Are any of you familiar with that site? Has it closed down?
