  Gundam 0079 Tv
Posted by: LI OTAKU - 09-04-2003, 04:27 PM - Forum: Anime Discussion - No Replies

Im interested in getting MSG 0079 and I would like to know if MI fixed the problem with the incomplete episodes. I know the subs may be poor but I own Macross Tv (MI) and Gatchaman (MI). Are they any worse than those? They cant be as bad can they?

  Small update.
Posted by: JunkieJoe - 09-04-2003, 10:44 AM - Forum: News/Announcements - No Replies

Just a small update today, but thought I'd remind people about 2 features on the site, first one, you can now add the dvds that are missing from our database, just make sure that you are logged in to the site (not just the forum) you will see add dvd link apear. The other features is the your HK dvd list, next to titles you will see "I own it" link, click on that link for items that you have, then click on your profile and u will see a button for your dvds, click on it and you will see all the items you've added, just cut and paste that URL to show off your collections Wink

  Bad Traders
Posted by: NYxCalm - 09-04-2003, 08:40 AM - Forum: Website Issues/Suggestions - Replies (5)

Hey JJ, I think an awesome idea/service you can implement would be to set up an escrow service. Dvds/Merchandise gets sent to you or an affiliate of yours stateside for a nominal fee - say a buck per transaction. Rolleyes You would make money with the volume of business you'd garner. It's be reliable, fair and OBJECTIVE most importantly. Both parties would have an reassurance, and @s$h0l3's wouldn't have the time of day to be ripping people off (damn get a life!).:p

The downside? - the added costs of postage for traders, unless they want to save costs and go with slow/3rd class postage, etc. This is just a brainstorm in its infancy, but I think its practical, what do ya'll think? Food for thought! Big Grin A small price some may pay for a piece of mind :o

  Favorite Resident Evil
Posted by: Berserker - 09-04-2003, 02:39 AM - Forum: Video Gaming - Replies (4)

I posted this topic on the ArcticNightfall forums and wanted to post it here so I could get all of your opinions as well...Big Grin

Of all the many Resident Evil titles...which is your favorite?

Mine would be Resident Evil: Code Veronica X. I loved the action packed cutscenes and the whole 3-D evironment...also, the return of Wesker. The Alexia/Alfred bit did kinda rip from a certain horror/thriller movie, but that whole game was amazing and sticks out as my favorie Resident Evil.

second favorite would be RE0...It was so cool to control two characters at the same time throughout the game (well most of it.) RE0 was probably the toughest RE also...that giant Tyrant could be a pain at times and it seemed like Capcom made the Hunters tougher than in the REmake.

I would have to say RE1 (PSX) was the scariest though. The voice acting was very humurous as well... Those Hunters did NOT play around in the PSX version...I have never feared fighting an enemy as much as the Hunters from the original RE.

Enough of my rambling...

So, what about you guys?

Look I know this guy has created some dope stuff before but this takes the cake. If this was a game I would drop $50 bicks on it in a heart beat.
Check it out and tell me what you think...?

  I've decided to make a manga! :)
Posted by: six_plus_one - 09-03-2003, 10:05 PM - Forum: General Babble - Replies (7)

Yes, that's right folks, I'm finally throwing my hat in the ring and starting work on my very own manga. SmileSmileSmile I've wanted very much to try my hand at this for quite some time, and now, with the advent of online drawing tutorials, I am going to give it a go! Smile

Now I know, I know, there are prolly like 750 billion webmangas and such floating around out there, but I will be putting much time, effort, and soul into this in order to make sure it's done right.

So far I have some rough thematic and storyline concepts along with some preliminary character sketches and I am currently working to cement them. The story is a bit on the unusual side and more of a downer than your typical manga fare. More on that in a sec.

I am still pluggin' away at names and design ideas so every little comment and suggestion will be greatly appreciated. I don't think that the names or themes should be japanese-y because I don't even wanna begin to pretend. Smile

Here are some sketches that I am trying to shape into one of the main characters. She should be 14-16 (13?) years old and a bit frazzled looking. She also has a little sister in the works. 6-8. Stubborn-type. Your ideas: Give them to me. Smile Thanx!

OT: Rocky & Bullwinkle R1s -- taking A Lead From The HK DVDs?
Posted by: rugrats1 - 09-03-2003, 09:01 PM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (1)

I know this is off-topic, but according to "Bob Oblong" in rec.arts.animation, the new "Rocky & Bulwinkle" R1 DVD has a dreaded feature that is commonplace on HK DVDs -- watermarks:

Quote:I just received my copy - seems the powers that be have replaced parts of the introductions, and to add insult to injury, each cartoon has a little "R & B" transparent icon (ala VH1) that appears for the first few minutes ...

Geez...

(inside the box there is a picture of Bullwinkle with the saying "Hello Low IQs" ... I feel like a low IQ type after buying this DVD.
