  No more Fav Episode threads
Posted by: Mantis421 - 11-04-2004, 02:18 PM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (7)

Well I finally decided after the last two weeks were their wasent much if any interest in my Fav Episodes threads I did each week to end my little series. Its a shame for me but lets face it its hard to keep a series going when it might be hit or miss if others even have seen let alone like the one you write about. That and midterms kinda just have taken the entire efort thought out of me at the moment. But I do want to thank all the people who responded and put their opinions in the threads over the last 3-4 months.

Hey, how is the anime Slayers?? It sounds like it could be really tight or pretty lame. I was also wondering about sCYRED, I've heard some really good reviews about it and i was wondering if they were true or if it was just a huge conspiricy to get me to buy a crappy anime... *ahem*... I apologise for that. Anyway, if you could let me know what you all thing about these titles that would be a big help.

Thanks a bunch!!! Cool

  Perfect Blue Question
Posted by: lambrt429 - 11-04-2004, 12:40 PM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (7)

Hey guys,
I was wondering if the sound on the MAC version of Perfect blue is as bad as the review says it is. Do any of you own the MAC version and if so should i pick it up or wait till they remaster it?

Thanks a bunch!!! Big Grin

  A death balance in anime??
Posted by: Ryujin - 11-04-2004, 05:37 AM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (13)

I was just thinking about a few things... for instance these days I get a little bit sick of the new "pansy" hero in some anime "Kenshin, Vash etc..". Not that I think the anime that they are in is bad, but sometimes I get a little bit sick of how the anime tries to warp events just so that nobody gets killed. I mean I don't have a problem with someone not wanting to kill people, but they just still have to do it sometimes.

On the otherhand I don't want to have something like Miyu where the story tries no matter what to make the "new person" of the episode die in some way to maintain some depression, or darkness. Again you don't want people exploding all over the place for no reason.

Basically what I'm saying is, depending on the story style and tone of the anime obviously, that there should be some kind of death balance if it can improve the storytelling or overall experience. Not too many people dying just for the hell of it, but not nobody dying and the show being really pansy...a balance inbetween somewhere I think is needed to keep an anime interesting.

What do you guys think?

I was screwing around in MGS2 when I came upon this great camera angle. I couldn't help but make a few screen caps and a movie:

For Firefox users, if the HTML file shows up as just text, try refreshing it. It didn't show correctly at first for me, but did after I refreshed it.

Holy crap! I just found some of the music from the Mortal Kombat album created by the immortals. Not the mortal kombat movies, but an album made in 95 for the game about each character.

Here's the album at allmusic:

Here's a song and a comic from Bob The Angry Flower:

PURE cheese, yet so much fun to listen to, if you were a mortal kombat fan ever.
