Oh sorry, only learned about that last year. As for the internet, one didn't know you could
get it online and two, I wasn't allowed on without a parental block on. Now parents don't
need to do this as this Uni monitors where you go on Net and if anyone even looks at porn

I always thought you were 14 or something but if your 19 and don't know about some of the things mentioned here there's something wrong with you(which is probably good from your parents point of view). I'm getting the impression you haven't got a clue how the real world works and that's not to insult you but i'm actualy a bit worried that people get raised the way you have seemingly been.
If your 19 than think about getting a place of your own asap and experience the world through your own eyes because your parents seem to have halted your social growth at 14. Have you ever been to a big city on your own or with friends(atleast no parents)? If not than plan a road trip or something, anything to get out of that shithole your living in and taste the real world. There's so much to experience that's not bad but your parents would never let you. Your 19, take some responsibility for your life. How long do you plan on being scared of your parents. At 19 I was an equal to my parents. They couldn't tell me what to do anymore and I didn't always accept their viewpoints in discussions but I stood up to them and told them my point of view if they liked it or not. I actually like to believe I taught my parents a thing or two about the world and the way young people view it and I bet you can too.
You seem like a real nice guy so try the life outside of the box your parents put you in. See the lifestyles of other people and learn from that, the good and the bad. You DO have a choice and your parents will have to learn to accept you for who you are or want to be. If they don't they're bad parents who don't support their child the way they should and they should have bought a puppet instead of making a child with his own personality. Yes so would I. I still live with my parents but they know I?m my own man. I vote differently than they do, I have different opinions of what's right or wrong, and they still support me. Only the fanatics that hide behind there "faith" with a misinterpreted (over opinionated) stance on their religion are the ones doing damage. I never considered my parents equal to me. I still owe them my life and just for that I really dont care if they are bad or good parents, I will still give them respect and if they really dont treat me well then I'll just leave and probably visit them once in a while. I know I sound unrealistic since i never experienced hardships with my parents so im just stating my opinions I guess. Im 26 and I still prefer to live here with my parents home (Im paying a quarter of the mortgage too). Id rather do that than live with a couple of room mates thats a pig and not trustworthy.
As for Ryo.... Im not saying your parents are bad but they really are hindering your growth for not letting you make your own choices in life. Bad expereinces are there as a learning experience, you dont have to search for them (ofcourse) but if you do stumble upon one then learn from it and not live by it. Sometimes you need to walk to the edge of the cliff by then you'll know if you want to risk it or not...(corny I guess)
Organized religion isnt for everybody, it depends on what you believe in and what your thoughts are in life.

You are abosolutly right in what you wrote. Let me specify in that I disgust (still the wrong word) the organisations who try to lure people in by saying do this (or don't do this) or go to hell and which impose their believes to people who are not able to choose for themselfs (children) and all in the name of god (who they never met) as if that makes everything they do ok. I hate the people who answer certain question with 'because god said so' or 'íts in the bible'. Those people don't think for themself and are sheeps in the hurde to me. Discussions with religious people always seem to strand with one of these remarks and thats where my negative look comes from. So I don't like the fanatics and the sheep.
I have respect for the people who make up their own minds and don't take the whole bible/koran etc. as gospel but use the parts they feel aply to them and the time they live in and don't 'believe' in fear of hell. I respect the people who can also point out the negative sides of their religion. I see the books just like that, books. Just like there are many other books of which you can gain immense wisdom. Unfortunatly not all religious people feel that way and only hold themselfs to the lifestyle of one book without knowing or accepting all the other stuff there's to learn. I see the bible as a sort of law book made in a time where there were no laws. In this time its not needed for that purpose anymore since we have our own laws to live by now (which resemble eachother alot).
I could go on and on but I don't think anyone's waiting for a religious debate in this thread. I just wanted to explain and hope not to offend anybody (which I don't think I have). If anyone does want to continue lets make a new thread since I'm always eager to discuss/learn about this (especially from an US point of view since it seems religion is actualy growing over there) but I have a feeling not many people will participate. I'm also the first to admit that I'm not educated enough in the teachings of the bible and that most of my perceptions are based around discussions I've had, television and (historic) articles I've read but I hope to one day find the time to dive into this subject and actually read the whole thing and maybe broaden my horizon on this subject.
