Anyone know what can read a .cbr file type? Nothing comes up when I search for the proper program. Need it to read the wolverine origin comics I downloaded off bit torrent.

Try this site:

http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=cbr

It says it's just a renamed .rar file.

Anyway http://filext.com/index.php is pretty good for finding file extensions.

There's a program called Comic Book Reader (or something like that) and .cbr files are just specially packaged .rar archives that can easily be read with the pages in order. I used to unpack .cbr files with WinRar then read the unpacked directory with Irfanview. Now I just use the comic book reader that was part of one of the torrents I downloaded.

I'm still having computer problems otherwise I'd tell you more about the program I use.

You can either rename the file to .rar or .zip and extract the files so you can view them in Windows Picture Viewer. Or you can use cdisplay. It is a program specially designed for viewing comic book scans. Using cdisplay you don't need to change the file extension at all, cdisplay reads .cbr, .cbz, .rar, .zip, and jpeg images. I use it, it's very good. You can get it here: http://www.geocities.com/davidayton/CDisplay
