Figure collecting
#1
I have some what of a moderate collection and have been trying to find a great site where I can find a wide variety but not get ripped off. I would especially like to find a site that has Japanese figures as well. I have used toyglobe a few times but they dont have too much of a variety and their prices sometimes really suck. Does anyone know of a site like this that they trust for quality and service? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What kinda figures? I collect gundam figures and I know a store with a decent collection of rarer stuff if you wanna pay for it. Otherwise i'd suggest ebay. They almost always have what you're looking for.

I've been known to check out HLJ.com (hobbylinkJapan) and they have a decent reputation. I also check out http://www.toyeast.com occasionally if I can get a few people to join me to split the shipping charges from HK.

I write toy reviews for Beckett Anime magazine, and have been collecting figures for over 15 years now. I usually get my stuff from http://www.atamaii.com or http://www.action-hq.com, just tell them you read their names in my Fantastic Plastic section of Beckett Anime and they will treat you good.

I think painting is a pain. To make them look as good as an already assembled figure takes a lotta time and work. That's the only reason I collect figures over models. If you just assembled them i'd be just as happy with models. =P Well that and figures and generally more posable too.

yeah but as I said. I wanna try it at least once. Even if painting does take forever and is a pain in the ass, at least i could be somewhat proud of what i'd done lol and like I said... I wanna try it at least once.
