Dragon Warrior & Dragon Quest are the same thing, hence, jsut read everything above, which isn't much.
I'm not really a fan of the DQ/DW series, nor cell shading, but I'm seriously thinking about getting it. Also the animations are done by Akira Toriyama, and the review I read said they were fantastic; it wasn't jsut the enemy swiping at air, it's the enemy swiping at YOU. something to that effect was written.
As for actually game play, er I don't know I found lots of faults in the older games, but I was told those sort of things were ironed out in DW6

If Max Collins, Matt Skiba, Jimmy Urine, & Mark Phillips had a child it would be one fu*ked up mofo, but 'it' would be the God of music.

I'm thinking about getting Dragon Quest VIII also. I've played about half of the games from the series and thought they were average but this one looks like the creators are making it more appealing to everyone, especially the American market. Also, it has a new developer, Level 5. I have never played Dark Cloud 2, which is basically what Level 5 is famous for, but I heard some great things. This may finally be a good game that Square Enix is going to bring out. After the shit they have been releasing lately, my expectations are not so high. What happened to games like Xenogears, Final Fantasy VII, Chrono Trigger, etc.?
