Think of it this way..

If they couldn't ban pornography, do you really think they can ban anime?

How dare that satanic whore call themself a christian! Anime is the philosphy and way to understanding the world. That is no christian, it is a child that judges without knowing, it is a pathetic parent that is jealous of losing their own child's attention to anime. May they burn in hell! Or god give them a good spanking!

Also the fact that he's Canadian -- the "rogers.com" domain is for the Rogers Cable TV system, which has several systems in Ontario (including Toronto and Ottawa) and the maritimes.

I still need to get around to my more Hajime no Ippo anime petition. I just need to figure out a way of who to address it to and figure out a cool letter in the most formal use of Japanese I can Big Grin

Well, I do believe in freedom of petition and speech, but this level is just kinda ridiculous if I say so myself.

Personally, I think American cartoons like Tom and Jerry and Looney Toons are more violent and suggestive then Hokuto no Ken and Dragon Ball. For example, in the Bugs Bunny and Daffy cartoons, you got Elmder Fudd constantly shooting at Daffy with a shot gun and the Wyle E. Coyote always manages to blow himself up with TNT in the end. While with mainstream violent anime like Hokuto no Ken, people blow up at a touch of a finger and DBZ has people shooting fire balls at each other.

Which do you think is the most influencing out of these choices? I'm not saying kids are dumb and are likely to believe this as the opponents of anime are saying, but I think people not dying by getting shot point blank and facing the impact of TNT is more suggestivley violent than let's say people shooting ki balls at each other.

I don't believe I just read through all that.

First, I'm happy to live in a country where people can petition for anything they believe in.
Second, I'm amazed (and amused) at some of the stupid things that people petition for.
Third, I'm saddened that people in this forum would spend so much time and energy worrying about anime even having the potential to be banned.
Finally, this particular ban is funny for every reason from the authors e-mail address to the very nature of the shows cited in the petition.

What? Why? What happened? I saw the title and the first post of this thread and figured it was a waste of time. I just happened to click on here to see what Zagatto had to say since his was the last post.

You were right to stay away... this whole thread has been a waste of time... except for providing some small amusement by pointing out how stupid people can be (like we need more examples of this).

I don't know... I think it's far more unlikely that my son will try and shoot a talking duck with a shotgun, than try to punch his way through a few bleach blond steriod freaks. I mean think about it, how is he ever going to aford a shotgun on his allowance?

While I did sign it just for the hell of it, I didn?t really take it seriously. I mean, it is an online petition; it will have about as much of an effect as a note on a bulletin board.

However, if you just like putting your John Hancock on random things, sign this.

Who is Ashlee Simpson? Also if they did thake that petiotion seriously I'd hav to counter

with a petition to put Hammerman back on the air. Now that would be great. I think it

would go something like thi: if you choose to ban anime emiht I suggest putting

Hammerman back on the air it is a decent cartoon from what I hear and stars the voice of

M.C. Hammer. Yeah I could just see that happening. The fact I'd attach it to the anime

ban petition would make sure the vote no on both. LOL. Also for kicks there could be

something like, "Anime is saved by Hammerman." That would be Legit.
