what do you think about the 3 Indiana Pacers that were fined and removed from play ?

Im under the belief that in order to play in the sport one should be a gentleman rather than a knock your head in thug - who is over paid. These people are role models whether they want to be or not , kids look up to these gangsters and think this is how you should behave. Keeping them from playing basketball for a time period is very generous , considering that i feel they should be banned from the game , and take anger management classes-- maybe keeping there payschedule down to what a teacher makes in a year , say 25 to 30 thousand a year might be fairer - and let our kids know that the real heroes in life are not sports players , but their teachers, firemen , policemen ,soldiers and others who serve them out of dedication and love rather than greed and bad hehavior . If you disagree with me thats OK ,thats the American way. There is other ways to solve problems ,rather than just beating the crap out of someone !

What a truly original philosophy.... anyways it is rather hard to try and solve things with words, a good punch in the gut always solves my problems.

I can't stand pro-sports, and don't really care what they do. But if all basketball games were that entertaining, I would get season tickets. I sat in Applebees and watched that fight maybe three times friday, and then my GFs father was watching college football on Saturday and there was another fight. Maybe I should like more than just hockey.

I think it was funny. That fan deserved to get his face punched in. However, this isn't how NBA players act and I think banning him for the season is an apporpriate punishment.

You do know that he didn't even hit the right fan don't you? That dumb ape just got up and started swinging at the first thing he saw, I mean what a freaking moron.

I, also, like your ideas puzzleguy, the sportsmen along with movie actor are being wrongly idolized. But the thing is, it's not as easy to cut their pay off. They got used to that money and their way of living is about that amount of money. They won't allow to cut their pay off, saying : "But they agreed to, in the first place. It's not my damn problem."

Prosports is degenerating because of the money. You just have to jump back 30 years in the past to see what was real sports, now it's just a business issue. But what can we do ? Nothing much, except boycotting all sports event.

Can we all do that ? I sure can, but watching sport is the only activity my old retired dad has (and I'm not saying I'm pleased to say it out loud), but I'm sure he's not the only one, so can we have the support of everyone ?
You'll need it in due time

can someone post a link to the news item and a clip of the video?

Lastly, no fan deserves to be punched, unless they're inciting a riot. Pro athletes need to realize that being payed several million dollars to PLAY A GAME holds them accountable for playing god-like. ANything less and they deserve to riled and yelled at. Was it an away game? EVen more reason to be yelled at. Fuck the basket ball player. Send him to a 'pound me in the ass' prison where he can rot like the fucking jackass ape he is.

Well i also don't think fans should throw a cup of beer and hit a pro athlete in the head. He was already trying to cool down after the guy on the other team choked him. Also he did eventually hit the fan. he just went after the wrong one at first.. i watched that scene so many times at work.. Because that was all that was on that night.

Also i belive the fans should of gotten in trouble also.. I think they all needed to be arrested and place in jail for a night or two.. Even if its pro sports fan's don't have the right to do what they did.. and players didn't have the right to do what they did.. but unfortunaly the fans will probably never get in trouble for it.

The way I see it, I don't care if I make $10,000 or $5,000,000 a year, if some motherfucker throws something at my face, I'm swinging. I grew up going to soccer games in South America and those bastards get crazy. European soccer fans are like that as well.

first i agree with you that the fans should be punished too. but i don't think that the player was trying to cool down, he was laying there showboating acting all cool, i would have wanted to sock him. and then some of his players came rushing in and just throwing punches instead of trying to calm things down. now i played competitive soccer for about five years and i now how worked up you can get about a game, and my team has been in fights and so have i. but when you are a professional, get paid to do a job, you need to act like you are doing a job. i referee soccer games and have been for 7 years, i get paid to do a job and i act accordingly, i get paid not to lose my cool when parents and coaches get in my face and conduct myself in a manner befitting my position. i understand that getting beer thrown on you is a reason to lose your cool, but since he is being paid, i think it's part of the deal to keep your cool and let the cops handle that instead of starting a brawl. and what about that guy who socked the fan who came on the court, what was that about? i'm not sure but wasn't that guy just talking? i think that if they were hit or attacked then they had the right to defend themselves, but running up into the bleachers and pummeling a guy was wrong.

You guys are idiots. Basketball players are human too and will react if someone incites them. If someone threw a water bottle at my head, I too would be pissed off and try to beat the shit out of them.

It's too bad Wallace was a jackass and started a fight over a not so bad foul.

Too bad Artest is a jackass and felt it was necessary to splay his ass on the score table as soon as he got to it.
