Rest assured that you're getting a quality series, at least with the original Tenchi Muyo series. Tenchi Universe is alright, Tenchi in Tokyo is not so good, and the Tenchi movies kick some serious ass. There's always a great combination of comedy and serious plot and character development, though I found Tenchi in Tokyo more aimed towards a female audience. Washu is probably one of my favorite characters in anime in general.
Macross. An experience often imitated, but NEVER duplicated. Shame on those who think otherwise.
