What is Tomoe doing in this scene....

I was watching Samurai X Trust/Betrayal OVA and there's this scene when Tomoe sneaks out of the room. She's biting into her hair to keep from screaming. This is during the time when she's already living with Kenshin. Anyway, what is she doing? Is she using her blood to write in her diary? Trying to have a miscarriage? Period problems perhaps? I don't know... For those it's totally obvious to, enlighten me.

Like with a ton of other Japanese shows, they seem to relish in making the woman a victim of their period and body cycles.

I think she knew the whole time Kenshin had killed her fiance. And really, it's just her period!!! Sheesh.. I hope I never go through a period like that.

Nope, the anime writers think that a Woman's period has some sort of profound meaning beyond, you know, biology.

Ah, I see. Then maybe I messed up :p. It (period thing) kind of reminds me of Evangelion, with Asuka. Anyone who has seen it would know what I am talking about...I hope.
