Well I wasn't sure where to put this, but I figure this is General babble so anything goes. Recently one of the only television shows that I actually give a rat's ass about has been cancelled. Angel has proven time and time again that it is one of the "smartest" shows on televison. Witty writing, great characters, and wonderful storylines make Angel a breath of fresh air.
So I ask for your help if you have ever seen the show and enjoy it give this petion a quick signature. I guess we can turn this thread into a discussion about the show (that is if any of you actually enjoy it). Thanks guys!
Dear Friends,
I have just read and signed the online petition:
"Save ANGEL the television series"
hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free online petition
service, at:
http://www.PetitionOnline.com/ai5d0162/
I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might
agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider
signing yourself.
Best wishes,
Shane Corson

THe producer is trying to get it on another station, like UPN, where he can do two more seasons like he intended.

I would really like it to be picked up again, considering it is one of the only things I watch. It would be a crying shame to end it now.

Very true. I won't be so upset if they are able to give it a definite end, but it seems doubtful.

Sad thing is that Joss will probably skip writing/directing the last episode because he's busy with the Firefly movie (he seems to care more about Firefly than Angel or even Buffy). I've only missed 3 episodes of Angel ever (luckily I had them taped or d/l'd them) in all 5 years it's been on. At least it's going off with a good impression. Buffy really sucked during it's final seasons. Really, I'd love it if UPN picked it up for another season (the FOX team that manages Angel is setting up a presentation for UPN) but I'm hearing that UPN really has no big interest in picking it up (since past WB pick-up's didn't do as well as they expected *i.e. Roswell, Buffy). I just hope that they can settle everything they really need to this season. It's getting really good, "Smile Time" was one of the episodes I thought would suck horribly, but it was witty, funny and very metaphorical in representing Angel this season. This weeks episode was great, I love it when Joss takes the reigns. I already miss Fred. At least we got some resolution to Cordellia and we get some with Connor fairly soon.
I've actually gotten my friends to send in mail-in letters to protest in cancellation (because online petitions rarely work). I signed the petition anyway, it never hurts to try.

"Smile Time" was an episode that I really looked forward to seeing. It's Angel as a puppet for crying out loud! It would be nice if they can market it around and find someone willing to pick it up. The storylines are just getting better. Makes me wish I had my own station.

I hate to go against the other people in this thread but i thought angel kinda sucked a lot. The problem with these series is that they usually keep going forever. This means that they can never end a season with an end cause they gotta start it up again next season if the company tells them to. I remember watching the first couple of episodes of angel, then watching a piece of one recently and seeing how far they had come. American TV shows would be better if they made a specified number of shows. If they decided how long a show was going to be and told a story that had a beginning, middle, and end. Instead of these marathons that keep going till the main actors don't want to do it anymore or people stop watching.
