Copyright stuff... from Guess Rav Av

For instance an aol based website is under the authority of aol. Stealing artwork is also a copy right infringment. I could theoretically sue them. Theoretically, mind you. I understand that if my work is on the internet people are going to steal it. That doesn't mean it doesn't upset me when I find out about it.

How is it stealing?

As far as I can tell, internet art isn't producing any revenue (except for pop-up click-thrus or porn pay sites). So, is merely transporting the image from one server to another and linking it on another site really stealing?

That's not what I'm referring to. What I'm referring to is when people take a piece of artwork that I have posted, change the signature and then say that they are the ones who drew it. If you put as much time and effort into artwork as I do, then you'd understand why I get angry. Yes, those pictures ARE copyright me because I've had them published. They are 100% creative, concept and production all by me. Yes, I do make revenue off my artwork. I sell some of my pieces, so if someone takes one of my pieces and says that it is theirs, they are stealing.

well, those would be hard copies I assume, unless you really sell JPGs to people. Otherwise, it would be fraudulent, but it's not stealing in the sense of the word.

Taking a picture off the internet is one thing, but changing the signature of a picture and claiming it as your own artwork is a totally different thing and yes it is stealing. By law.

I had one freak who called herself "Stacey" take quite a few of my pictures and tried to sell them online as prints. Then just recently there was another person who took one of my pictures and added it to their repertoire of stolen art that they turned into banners without asking or attributing to the artist. They posted them on their website with the description of turning their own arwork into banners for paid use.
