I would like to start by saying this is probably the first post I've put in AD since 2 weeks after GB was created. And two or three different people have asked me if I even watch anime, & I answer; "Yes I Do"
Now up until about a week ago my opinion of Manga (the comics) was very low, but now I'm searching for every bit I can. he nearest store around here that MIGHT carry Manga I won't be able to go to for about a month (I don't get out enough, but as for anyone who know me, I got a farmer's tan:eek: ), but that's no problem because I turned to my lovely friend, the internet, & found a few places to d/l from. And was wondering if anyone knew a "series", title, or whatever theyare called I should check out.
My plan at this moment is to d/l, read, & burn almost every thing at http://www.toriyamaworld.com/manga.html

Definitely get Hikaru no Go. Get Hajime no Ippo, and Berserk as well. Those are just a few of the millions you need to have.

I'm one step ahead of you on Hikaru no Go, as for the others, I'm searching for Berserk right now, hopefuly I'll find it. And the others one I don't think I've ever heard of it, could you enlighten me some?
Thanks for the suggestions.

Love Hina is also a good one
There were scanslations of them on the net a while back but all of the sites that had them are dead. Try to get them on a p2p software

Kodocha is my favorite manga title. Also see the anime version, Kodomo No Omocha. Iron Wok Jan is pretty amusing as well.

I second Kodocha and Love Hina. You can download english scanslations of Love Hina at http://www.scriptclub.org , register as a member and go to manga -- sorted-- then the L archive.
You MUST check out Detective Conan. Download it at http://www.mangadownloads.org You HAVE to try it.

Well, I discovered un-scaned manga isn't for me. none of the titles I want are in stores (I went to one), & they only had "all" volumes of one title, Dragon Ball, which I'm not into.
Plus, the main reason being I'm cheap. I rarely ever have money, & with each volume costing about 11 bucks I can rarely afford two volumes, much less something like HunterXHunter. On the net I found some adult manga for 4 to 5 dollars a volume, & untranslated manga for 6 bucks+6 shiping, & was wondering, why is it that adult manga is cheaper, is it because it contains less per volume or what?
So I guess I'm sticking to d/ls atleast until I get a job.

Hunter X Hunter is a great manga (and cheap, only about $4.00 a book). Also, berserk is great, as well as Hana Yori Dango (oap opera type romance, great at first, now a little over done), Oh My goddess (romance), One Piece (comedy, action), Flame of Recca (again getting a bit long for my taste, but still pretty good), and X.
If you're looking for great one shots, try wanted by the author of One Piece.
Watch for sets of manga on eBay. I got all of Flame of Recca (32 volumes at the time for $55.00). The guy did mis-spell Recca, but...

I only read the first 2 volumes of Flame of Recca but I'm really enjoying it so far. I can't wait till I get to the part that continues after the anime (its gonna be awhile though)
I also recommend GTO, so far I like it better than it's anime counterpart

If you don't mind buying from online bookstores or something, check out TokyoPop's release of the Kindaichi Case Files, the Opera House Murders. It's a pretty damn good murder mystery series)
Once again, I also have to reccomend Detecitve Conan. ( http://www.mangadownloads.org)

A great place to go for solid manga collections is ebay. They usually sell whole series burned to a CD + extras for $5.00-$10.00. And if you bundle them together they can be much cheaper (I'm bidding on all of Berserk for $7.00 and am picking up a complete Love Hina CD with it for $3.00 when the auction ends.) Only $2.00 shipping, so you don't get burned that way.
Pretty good if you don't want to search all over the place for the stuff and you just want it all in a nice complete format.
The only thing that would kick even more is if I could find a way to fit an extra CD in my gatefolds. Anime + Manga all in a nice little brick on the shelf.
I know you can save money searching for it, but I like to spend all my search time on PSX Isos and the like =)
