Does anyone have the TV series set? The best review I could find was "A Boy a his bloodly fu@% robot. Fights evil force. Come on man its a classic." He gave stuff various points, but by reading his review, I am not sure how accurate they are. Oh, and does anyone have Astro Boy DVD? Can't seem to find any reviews.

Both from this site. Volume 2 also has screenshots to judge the subtitles yourself. That review up on Animeniacs isn't that informative.
The above two reviews are of volume 1 and 2, respectivly, from the Anime Studio set (3 seperate releases). I'm assuming (and it's a safe one) that the 12 disc MAC and AV sets are rips of the AS sets. So there's the basic review ffor all the releases of the series.
And, well, it's up to you. They all say the subs are pretty lackluster, but I've gotten by reading worse. Besides, it's a Super Robot anime from the 70's. The only thing that's going to require thinking is how the "Hell did he survive that?" and other wierd things like that
