anyone ever use an xbox to play HK DVDs? does it work good? cause i might have to use mine for a while before i get a real dvd player.

Get a real dvd player. Xbox and playstation 2 sometimes have problem playing dvds. The problems are freezing/skipping/blur images etc.
It's not expensive to get a real dvd player. You can get so many under $100.

It's adequate (when it can play HK DVDs - in my opinion more of a fault of the DVDs than the Xbox) and will certainly do in the interim until you buy a standalone. To be honest you don't need the finest of players to watch HKs anyway, but a standalone will be better than a games console DVD player.

Xbox sucks for HK DVD's. as for the games mod it and get them for free

for some this is a big part.. the Xbox actually has 3 different Drives in them..
they have a
Thomson - Shitty it won't even read cd-r's
Samsung - The best, will read about anything you give it
Phillips - Complete shit reads about 50% of discs i put it if that..

So alot depends on which drive you actually get in the Xbox weither it will play dvd's very good or not.. my xbox with Thomson drive skips on R1 movies. Thats how shitty it is.. But my one with samsung doesn't have a problem at all..

with PS2 it depend on what version player you have!

the newer ones even have progressive scanning! (silver,plat blue v3+ PLAYERS)

best ive found via compaing mates Ps2 and mine is v1.10 on jap consoles works with all FX dodgy ones i threw at it!!!
