There is a high quality divx Ghost in the Shell 6 min trailer available on the web. Do a google search for:

The link right click and save as) I used was

It is 50MB be warned.
Beautiful. Can't wait for it. I'd even see this in the cinema. Can't wait for the DVD though. I'm not going to make the same mistake I made with GITS:Stand Alone Complex and rush out and end up with something with unintelligible subs...

yea, i definitely can't wait to see this. there will for sure be a fansubbed copy before the dvd hits over here and i'll be sure to pick that up.
now if only someone would start subbing the the second season of sac i'd be set
there's only so much you can understand from the raws without speaking japanese

I've downloaded the trailer but all I get is sound without any picture.
Any clue how the video clip is encoded or where I can get the correct codec to play this?

it's probably xvid or divx, i would think. i didn't download this one specifically because i'd already seen it, but ffdshow should be able to play it without a problem.

He has been compiling the lastest FFDshow cvs builds.. as up to nov of 03. Latest builds even include an ac3 audio decoder.

It's divx. Go to
http://www.divx.com to get the codec. And remember to configure the codec to turn off the logo. For some reason the divx logo watermark is on by default.

Wow the second season has started already? I am going to wait this time. The existing subbed ver of SAC that I got was too hard to understand. Pathetic really.

I would still recommend getting ffdshow over the divx decoder.. ffdshow can decode almost any format there is out there including divx and xvid. So better all around solution in case you don't have all the codecs..

cool, thanks for the info. i didn't know anyone was compiling them. i was about to say that i could get rid of my ac3filter but then i remembered that i need it to do actual encodes. oh well
and yea, i agree with Schultz in getting this over the divx install. it can play anything and is a much quicker download than divx.
