it wasent just sony.
but it is for HD movies and can be used for big games and the quality of games you can make better games for nex gen systems like cut scenes from FF games i want to see those types of graphics on the next gen systems and blu-ray can help them cause they can store a shit load more stuff on them just the cost of the games will go up i bet a hell of alot and the PS3 will be a hefty penny as well.
