The HKs episode count are like this:
MI:
vol1 - 1-4
vol2 - 4-8
vol3- none
AV:
vol1 - 1-4
vol2 - 4-8
vol3 - 9-16
Therefore, get the AV discs. There are quite a few sellers on eBay who sell the AV discs 1-3 as a bundle (type "Read or TV" in the search box)
I'm VERY eagerly waiting for the R1's too, but I also want the HKs. I reccomend you get AV's though, because MI will probably continue with the horrible 4 episodes per disc thing, plus AV tends to be better in subtitles.
BTW, It's not Read or Dream, it's R.O.D -THE TV- . No one knows what the "D" stands for, most people think Dream because of the manga but I call it Read or Die TV.
