I spoke with JJ about this one and he says at least one other was affected by this problem in the pressing. He expects the problems to be fixed with future releases but doesn't know for sure when those will be done.
From what I was able to watch, this looks like a super cool anime but the sound problem is inexcusable. I hope it is fixed soon so I can watch this without turning off the sound.
at least the subtitles look pretty nice.
