School - Nina182B - 11-13-2004 How many semesters of college have you taken Cidien? If you've done half, might as well finish it. It is totally worth it.. companies won't talk to you unless you have a degree. My friends who decided not to go are making 25k-30k per year.. and some of them are so hard working and smart, just that they had their own reasons for not going to college. I graduated last may, starting salary 50k. I'm not sure about tech school.. I think luck plays a factor in how much you make with a tech degree. I know some guys who did that, they're making around 40k but they really should be paid more. School - Zagatto - 11-13-2004 Nina is totally right here. I've got my tech certificate (s) and the best I've been able to do is $37k/yr... my wife has a university degree and has been able to get jobs earning up to $50k/yr that have absolutley nothing to do with her education. Some employers prefer hiring people who have finished a university degree. It shows perseverance and an ability to communicate. Best of all, those employers are willing to pay extra just to have people with that university education. I guess it's important to figure out if you'd rather be doing something that you enjoy, like a trade, or if you want to earn a good living and having time left to spend with you family and friends. I have a number of friends with university degrees that love their jobs, make lots of money and get plenty of free time. One of my biggest regrets in life is choosing to get a college certificate instead of a university degree. School - Ryo of Inferno - 11-13-2004 I agree with Zagatto and Nina Cidien, don't quit Uni. My College became an Uni two years ago and every now and then I lsip and call it a college because for most of my life that is what it was. You say you school is a snoozefest? You don't know the meaning of the word until you come to mine. I take it yours is secular correct? Mine is religious and boy is it boring. I'll go into details later if you want but right now I just don't want to think about it. Look at the bright side of things while you can. Thats all I have to say for now. School - rav96 - 11-13-2004 yeah might aswell finish it dude... i HATE Pharmacy...make thatv loathe with a passion but still doig it and in my masters year now...though i do admit i have been lackin motivation alot more than usual..like missing lectures all the time and generally becoming a sloth...gahhhhhh but a degree gets you places... my starting pay after my prereg year is gonna be around £30,000 but im not sure if i even can be asked with it..hmmm we'll see what happens but im still gonna get my degree Be Kool Kids Stay in Skool :p hahahahahaha School - Ryo of Inferno - 11-13-2004 rav96 Wrote:Be Kool Kids Stay in Skool Actually I think it sounds better the way Mr.T says it. Don't be a fool stay in school. or I pity the fool that don't stay in school. Now thats a classic. Sorry rav96 couldn't resist. School - Banishing_Blade - 11-13-2004 Yeah I admit school is good for you but it still is boring can be a waste of time. My schoolespecially. It really stinks. It is really small about 450 kids and their are not all that many options in the type of classes. Ask Blight he knows, it sucks balls. Does your school consider parties and dances wrong and totally sinful therefore not allowing you to have them? That is what sucks about mine. If your school is secular it may be small but its still better than mine. These are pretty much the only dances we have in our dorms. We still have dances though but only once or twice a semester per dorm. School - Atomic Orgasm - 11-16-2004 i go to school, get shit done, talk to a couple of friends, leave, go to work, etc. School - rav96 - 11-16-2004 Ryo of Inferno Wrote:Yep still remember the whole themw song. i have it downloaded Sugoi!!! School - Cidien - 11-16-2004 Only done one year, and am not motivated so this semster my grades will probably be F's. After I finish tech school I should be making about 40k a year starting and move up to a glass ceiling of about 50k in a couple years. Probably would have had more fun and probably would still be in college. Oh well. School - Ryo of Inferno - 11-16-2004 Cidien Wrote:I went to Lutheran schools since halfway through the fifth grade. Still I think irs better than mine. My school is Baptist for crying out loud. As if that isn't bad enough its mostly run by Southern Baptists. Ohh the horror. |
