That's not so bad, Taxi is a great movie. Taxi 1 and 2 are some of my favorite movies.

Yeh elcoholic the first ain't bad, but when you're anxious to see an anime and have been waiting some hours to download it - then you watch it and it turns out to be a fake it can be very annoyin, no matter how good the film was.

Probably my biggest gripe with this movie is the fact that the other characters from the game barely make an appearance at all. Part of the reason I loved the game so much was for its cast of characters and how they played off of each other. The other characters from the game (Barret, Cid, Yuffie, Red, Cait Sith) didn't even have a real reason to be there. Sure I understand that Cloud is the central character but at least give these guys something interesting to do. I really liked the ensemble of Final Fantasy VII the game. It's a real shame that it didn't port over to this movie.

That is the only disappointment to me too. I didn't care about a story, I never liked FF VII's story, so the lack of it and a focus on action was really what I liked about it. I wanted to see more of Cid.
The Sephiroth part was weak. They should of just had a big 3 on one brawl. His part felt like, "Well, the people like Sephiroth, lets put him in there." I think it would have played out better as them just quelling a revival of Sephiroth, rather than him coming back for like 5 minuets. Plus Cloud completely owned him MOST of the fight, so it didn't even seem like he was a threat.
The Sword. HOLY SHIT! That was one of the coolest weapons I have ever seen.

But overall, I really enjoyed this movie. Way more than I thought I would. I felt real, hardy excitement during the action sequences and my jaw dropped at some of the moves. The only show that have ever made me feel that way this intensely is Yu Yu Hakusho, which is my favorite anime of forever and always. So anything that can make me feel that way is great in my book.

I've had the movie for a couple of days and although I'm dying to see it I have yet to do so. What I did watch was FFVII: Last Order, the OAV that's included in the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Ultimate Edition. This short OAV is actually very good. Those who have played FFVII will imediately recognize the story since it tells of what happened in Nibelheim years before the game. The nice thing about this OAV is that it shows what happened to Zack and Cloud after the Nibelheim events, it's sort of the missing link between past events and the beginning of the game. Highly recommended, especially to those who are fans of FFVII.

Actually, in the U.S. version of the game there is a scene they added if you Nibelheim some time later, you get to see Zack (who until then I thought had been killed by Sephiroth in the reactor), rescue Cloud from the experimental tanks in Nibelhiem then hitch-hiked in the back of a truck. Zack also gives Cloud some of his cloths, explaining why they dress alike. Then get to the outskirts of Midgrad and Shinra regulars find shoot the hell outta Zack and leave Cloud for dead since he is so mest up because of the experiments they did to him. He picks up Zack?s Huge ass sword and mourns Zack then wanders off. Next they show him just sitting the train station still weirded out and Tifa finds him. And his involvement with Avalanche starts. The first time I played through I missed this scene, but I went back to get something from the mansion and it was actually the missing link that allowed me not to absolutely hate the games story. It gave it some creditability since I hated the story cause I it made it seem like Cloud just made up a bunch of shit to save face and just seriously believed his own lies *which is just plain weak). It was the experiments on him that screwed up his mind, which makes it a lot better than he just invented who he was by choice.
And if this is a spoiler to anyone, well the game has been out for like 8 years (and it is part of the game), so get over it.
Andromeda was anything else further explained in the OVA since I doubt I will ever see it?

Actually, it seems the US version of the game shows even more than the OAV. I didn't know what had happened to Zack since I played the European version of the game and that scene wasn't included in it. It seems I'll have to get myself the US version and play the game all over again. Anyway, you can get the OAV on the net, that's how I got mine, I don't think I'm going to spend $250 on Advent Children's Ultimate Edition.

Yeah 250 bucks is a lot of money, I might download the OVA just to check it out then. But yeah, I knew it wasn't in the Japanese version but I wasn't sure about any others out there. It was probably the most satisfying scene in the whole game too, since it puts so much together.

anime-source.com has the two disc bit-torrent set available now for down loading, shinsen-subs is a very reliable source- theres also a H-S version thats one disc thats very good-- most of the downloads on torrentreactor are phony- dont bother, youll get some movie called Taxi or some porn flick - I definitely will pick up the set on dvd , heard November 14 or 16 th ?( or is that the Theatre release- may of got this nessed up ) - we'll see, still dont understand why they dont release it the way it is either dubbed or subtitled ( like Ghost in the shell movie # 2 - subs are good ) dont think Ill get the HK on this , I did that with appleseed and a month latter the US version came out for a few dollars more, thats probably how this ones gonna happen-- super happy I waited for steamboy, instead of a HK-- hey for 15 bucks, thats Fair !

Anyone willing to burn a dvd with ac for me? I'll pay cost + a couple bucks if someone wouldn't mind. Can't find a subtitled one on bearshare and BT takes forever and ties up my computer.

I watched it this weekend with some friends and my girlfriend, whom all think FFVII was God's gift to mankind. I hated FF7, it was the reason I stopped playing Rpgs, so I wasn't that excited about the movie. After I saw it, I thought it was done quite well, the fight scenes and music were fantastic. I think it didn't look as good as Spirits Within, for example the way some characters moved, probably because it had a smaller budget, but the unrealism helped with the fight scenes. I thought it was a nice closing to a game I never cared about, but I'm sure many FF7 fans will be creaming their pants. Lots of fanservice!
