Halo2 on Live!. I need some pointers. I'm getting my ass handed to me every round. Whoever said that matchmaking pits you against people who have the equal skill needs to look at my games.
Plus I don't like the interface. I can't even find any people from my own country or stay in the same room with the same people I just played with. I just want to select a game and stick with that group for the rest of the day while just changing levels each round. I'll get used to it since I am having fun when finnaly playing. I need some friends and a clan.
Anyone want to add me my tag is: EES

I've played Halo2 off-line before, but I was going up against one of the best in town..or so he'd claim to be. I got lucky twice; once I cirlce strafted around him using two machine guns, & the second time I blew up his vechicle using grenades, then did the same to him. The game play seems to be slower than Red Fraction 2, which is the only FPS I like to play.
The only tips I know it learn the levels well..& I think the age old techenque of jumpping so you're harder to hit still works
thinking about buying the berserk ps2 game, gonna have to shell out a lot of cash for it (between the game and the mod) so i would appreciate it if anyone who has played the game could tell me if it is any good or not?
I've played it and it doesn't differ all that much from the dreamcast game in the gameplay part. The way Guts swings the sword is awesome and really gives you a feel of weight and power. But it is very, very repetitive. I've just played the first 2 levels or so. First level starts in a snowy setting and there are like snowman monsters spawning everywhere. The same ones over and over. Now you can decide to fight them or just run to the end of the level to face the boss (which I think was skullnight or that other guy from the anime with the huge sword).
For Berserk fans it does feel special since you know Guts and all the other characters and the cutscenes are alot of fun explaining parts of the story I didn't know (never read the manga). But just the game on its own is nothing special although it does look good. Pure hack and slash (he also has his bow and canon and berserker mode). If your looking for a good action game this is not it compared to DMC or GoW but for Berserk fans its alot of fun although 0 replayability.
Hope that helps.
The Berserk game is only fun for a little bit, then it drags on and on and on. I would much rather play Dynasty Warriors. The Berserk game's only endearing factor is that it is a Berserk game. The level design is something else I had a big gripe with. Everything is so drab and dull. Hideous to look at. I love Berserk and I know the setting is dark, but these levels are ridiculous. The game has a very "unfinished" sense about it. Like if they had another couple of months to mess with it, it would have been better.
If you do buy it only expect to play it one time through.
The last game that I played was Destroy All Humans. Very fun.
Finnaly playing Farcry: Instincts. People interested in fps surely read the reviews already and its all true. Best fps on consoles easilly. It looks great, nice weapons, good AI and lots of vehicles in huge levels. It owns Halo in the singleplayer and even in the multiplayer if you have a good host. And that's where the problem comes in. The online lag is ridiculous at times. Its so bad that it can't even be a connection problem, the coding must be very bad. I hope they can fix this because the multiplayer is even beter than the singleplayer.
To top it of they have a map editor or I should say THE map editor. You won't believe the maps you can make till you see it yourself. Its hardly ristricted in terms of size so you can make huge maps and you have every option you want available to you. If they fix the lag this game it will be the best Live game period.
Just playing WoW and Ninja Gaiden Black. Gotta play through black again and get the stupid scarabs.
Skies of Arcadia down, moved on the Baten Kaitos…
Baten Kaitos, like far too many people these days, is very pretty and appealing at first but gets annoying after you get to know them. I have a lot of gripes about the game. It is card RPG but that isn’t really a bad thing since you still level and have statistics that affect damage and so on.
However, the game depends on elemental damage too much. It is hard to find an attack of defensive item that doesn’t have elemental properties. This wouldn't be a problem, but there are six elements but you can only play three different ones at a time because if you don't, the opposites will cancel each other out and you deal no damage. Compound this with the fact that you get random selections of cards available to you each turn and the cards available to put in the different characters decks (only two characters, the magic users, can even use each others cards also) are contradicting elements.
There is a cool combo damage system, that is completely useless because you are timed in how long you to make a move or you auto pass. It works by using certain number orders (each card is number 2-9) of the same number on the card, with multiple cards. But when you have less than 10 seconds to look over you cards, and the have to pick them rapidly or you skip it just sucks.
Worst of all, the story really does have one enormous twist, but afterward there isn't really one character that looks heroic or valiant. I HATE all of the characters. They are either stupid or annoying stereotypes. Plus most of them are people I would punch in the face in real life, just because they are pricks.
Oh, well worst of al would be the VO, but I don't really even want to call it that. It is horrible. Horrible with an effort I can’t recall ever encountering before.. What I mean is that it isn't bad for lack of effort, because I think they really tried hard to make it as shitty as it is. Fortunately, the best feature of the game is the ability turn it off. I guess even Namco knew how fucking awful it was.
I thought I would like this game, but I'm glad I’m almost done with it, cause the longer I play it, the more it pisses me off.
Also playing farcry, I cant even begin to describe the awesomeness of the map editor, I could easily recommend this game even if it only had the map editor and multiplayer, its that good.
I agree with blight on baten kaitos, at first I liked it but it just got bothersome to play, there was nothing about the game that makes you want to continue.
Sucks to play a bad game after skies too. That would just make it worse. Skies of Arcadia is one of the better rpgs i've played in the last couple years. So many of them just can't keep my attention for more than a couple days. Suikoden 4's been sitting on my shelf for months. It's just not the same quality that 2 was. Better than 3 though. That was a godawful game.
couldn't wait till next week, so I ended up buying the newest Mushashi whatever Samurai..
Currently switching between Legend of Kay, Ninja Gaiden Black, and Killer 7 at the moment.
Legend of Kay has a horribly slow beginning, but picks up and plays much like Maximo in later levels. Very cool game if you can overlook the flaws. The voice acting is horrid too...oh, so horrid. *turns up comp music to drown it out*
Ninja Gaiden Black is just pure ecstacy.
Killer 7 has the most intriguing presentation with an interesting story. The gameplay takes some getting used to, but I really like this game a bunch!
Still playing farcry I love this game, I am really far into the game and am stuck on what else an esscort mission the guy doyle just walks around and you have to watch his back totally frustrating considering the enemies at this point are pretty tough.
Also I just got doom3 roe lots of fun considering I really liked doom3, definitely worth it for any doom3 fan.
I just battled that blubber dude who needs like 250 rounds to die. Awesome scene when you first meet him behind the glass and he breaks free. I don't have a clue what's going on on that island.
Also that level where the first hangglider appears and you can choose to walk, fly, drive or swim through that huge canyon is awesome. Definetly replaying that one. I flew through that level so I missed a large part of the level on the ground. This game rocks!
I still need to put some more time in with the level editor but it takes a couple of hours to make a good map and get used to all the options. I want to recreate some levels of other games.
They did a great job on every aspect of that game. I can spend a whole day on the map editor at a time. I got passed the escort part its not very long. The one thing that could have used something more was the story, you never really get any of it at all. Just bits here and there. They could have included a small journal like function once you beat the game to clarify the story.
Dont worry elcoholic I dont want to give anything away but you definitly see more blubber heads, there are also some dudes like you.
I started playing the zelda collectors again, I am going to play the games through in order and then wind waker, its the only thing I can do in the mean time since twilight princess is delayed. Also for me those games never get old.
